I'm fooling around with tuning my XFI and kPa has never been a term in my normal use. in/Hg has, since it's what is typically refered to ie: 16 in of vacuum.

One reading I had was 45kPa. Let's assume atm. pressure for the day was 30.0 in/Hg. 45kpa is 13.28 in/Hg.

30 in/Hg is 101.5 kPa. ( 1 atm)

101.5 kPa minus 45 kpa = 56.5 kPa.
56.5 kPa = 16.7 in/Hg vacuum...

therefor 45 kPa = 16.7 in/Hg vacuum.

anyone agree ?

Kpa X .295 to convert to inches of mercury

45. X .295 = 13.28

56.5 X .295 = 16.6675

So I'd say you're on to somthing there -- my way is just "faster". :>)

Can't you toggle your laptop interface to read Hg OR Kpa??

I think I can do this on my Accel Gen VII -- but have gotten used to reading the kpa -- since it's only a "relative" measurement...

A handy website for converting "stuff".

I actually did think of about checking to see of I could change kpa to in/hg. I just haven't done it yet.

Even easier

I searched the Fast XFI operations manual (since my buddy uses FAST - I loaded the manual files on my laptop so I could help him with his wiring etc).. and I couldn't find how you could switch the scale readout.

Maybe Jody knows if this is possible in the FAST system.

Either way - you've got your calcs down pat...

doesn't look like you can switch from KPA to psi like BS3 or some others. No big deal, you get used to it and I used simple converter tools like above when I needed an exact boost or vacuum level.
