I'm running a Fast XFI and my fuel pump is a Weldon 1100 A . My question is do I need a fuel pump controller or will the XFI control the pump? Does the XFI just turn it on , or does it control the speed of the pump? I've read that the weldon or Aeromotive pump controllers slow the pump down when you don't need full flow which keeps the fuel cooler and the pump quieter.

Anyone use one of these pump controllers?

Thank you.

The XFI turns the fuel pump relay on/off only. The 1100-a is a continuos duty pump which shouldn't require a fuel pump controller.

as Dennis said the XFI will just control the on/off of the pump, not the speed. I just removed my Aeromotive controller; failed after about 500 miles of use. Good thing was it has a bypass switch so you're not stuck, but I don't think I'll be using that one again.

Thank you guys . I'm thinking of useing a Weldon controler. Its a little more than the Aeromotive, but yours is not the first Aeromotive that I've heard has failed. Wayne
