So I have a great drivetrain that I am going to be taking out of my current project/race car and will be putting it in a 68-72 Chevelle.
My transmission is from an 02 Camaro, are there any fitment issues with this one? It will be sitting behind an LS1 with Vette. accessorys.

I want to use my tranny because its a brand new refurbed "built" from rpm transmissions.

Thanks
Josh

It's the best choice of transmissions you can get for a 67 chevelle. I have one going into my 69 camaro :)

Great thats good news... Now I just need to decide what chassis I want to start this venture with, there are so many options.

The transmission tunnel will have to be modified to fit it.

Thats not to hard, I assume there has to be some modifications for the shifter hole and the fact that the T56 is a big ass tyranny, maybe some widening?

Yea I haven't experienced the modding of the tunnel more than shifter hole location. I had LT1/T56 setup and it fit perfect with the BMR crossmember. Going LS motor now and I see some people have to cut top of tunnel and move up to clear. Not sure why.

He's working on a Chevelle. Not a Camaro.

Well I'm not sure what car I want to start with, its still up in the air.. A Chevelle just one of the many possibility's..

I guess Ill find out what i have to do to make it work when I get to that point.
