When my 69 camaro is driven for a little bit and its hot outside, my car has a problem starting. What can the problem be? I've been told that its the starter. When it gets to hot, it doesn't want to start. The car has a SBC350 and a TH350 transmission. What should I do? or check? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

Does it turn over fast enough? My guess is you need a starter heat shield.

Starter heat soak is common on small and big block GM engines with headers. Design Engineering makes a product called the Versa-Shield that installs easily without any disassembly. It attaches by way of velcro, so there's no clamps. Install it, mark it for trimming, remove it, cut it, and re-install it. Good stuff.

Where can I buy this stuff? Or is there a High Temp starter that I can buy? if so...What brand? and where can I buy it from?
