View Full Version : Mary Pozzi autocross tips video
Ty Hauer from Air Ride Technologies had a chance to ride with 11 TIME SCCA AUTOCROSS CHAMPION Mary Pozzi in her Camaro at the Del Mar Goodguys show last weekend. She offers some SERIOUSLY good insight on how to improve driving skills. This is worth a look...

Here was my lesson from Mary:
Go fast and don't crash...
lol
Actually what I learned from her and David made me a much better driver.

I can associate with the laughing at the end...the fews times I've had the pleasure of being in that passenger seat when Mary is doing her thing behind the wheel left us both laughing pretty hard too.
Great to see someone enjoying life so much...

I can't express properly in words what a joy it was/is to spend time with Mary and David. Exceptional people! My only regret is that I live so far away and can't spend more time with them. Doing the ride-along video with Mary was way more fun then the video expresses. I learn more from her in a 29 second runs than I do reading all those books about driving. I truly hope that they can make it out to the midwest some TIMES this year so she can school me some more. Thanks Mary!
Love ya, Ty :)

I agree wholeheartedly and that was so much fun talking shop while trying to slide around corners in a somewhat controlled and silent manner. I managed the controlled part but didn't get an A in silent.
I'm working on those Midwest trip(s) and it may actually happen. Have Camaro, will travel ... in sixth gear across I-80. Love getting 30+ mpg at 80+ mph. Gotta have something to drive at Good Guys in Columbus ... I also want to learn more about Air Ride as I get lots of questions about your suspensions so may spend a couple of extra days out your way.
Now we'll have to do a fun video on golf. I hope you bring your "A" game so one of us has one; mine will probably still be in California. After not picking up a club in over a year, I went golfing yesterday and had moments of awesome with shots to behold (par, par, bogie, birdie ...). Long off the tee and my short game was incredible but I won't bore you with more ad nauseum details. That is until some alien doofus took 'hold of my swing on or about the 11th hole. It turned to royal s**t from there and I barely broke 90.
And James,
I'll teach you the proper method of verbal car control in a couple of weeks. There's a lot involved ... enunciation and facial expressions get you bonus points and the car really responds to this. Trust me. Really.
Plan on very hot weather too ...
See ya' soon,
Mary P.
