As of this morning, I now have an LT1/T56 combo thanks to some water and trees. I'm fine but this really hurts. I really liked this car. I took out a four inch diameter tree with the front corner. That spun me around again and slammed the back end into the trees where I finally stopped moving. Watched three other people nearly loose it in the same spot while waiting for the tow truck. Many more got squirrelly though. So as of now, no more 6.6 Gen 3. I'd rather try out a turbo LT1. So if anyone out there has info on building a good turbo combination or has links to some examples, I could use some cheering up. I think a turbo LT would be a great choice that's different. Thanks

Jody's car was sick. I wonder if the person he sold it to finished it? I'd love to build something to that level but can not afford to. Basically, what I am looking at is if I can make a turbo LT1 perform like a stroked 6.0 Gen 3 and for around the same cost, I'm in. I realize the stroked 6.0 Gen 3 will not be pushing its limits and the LT1 will be more so but I'm not really planning on anything more than upper 400s pushing 500 to the wheels. I want a sick torque band more than anything else. My TA is not lightweight

Man, sorry to see that, but at least you're ok.. cars can be replaced of fixed, that's harder to do with people.

Good to hear you are doing well. I have been thinking about buying up an LT1 to build up. I have found some in the 500 dollar range on Craigslist.

Sorry to hear :( . I had a similar accident back in the day with my Dad's '96 V6 Camaro. Except the dent on the rear was from where I punched the car after seeing the damage up front. Atleast you have a cool car to put the drivetrain in  .

Welcome to the 4 gen curse I wrecked mine in pretty much the same way. Sorry you had to wreck it. It always sucks. Good luck on the swap.

Sorry to hear about your accident, but am glad your ok. Hey, if you still want a gen 3 motor for your project, you might want to part the wrecked car out to raise some cash for the engine swap. Lots of parts including brakes and suspension that people are looking for out there. Best of luck !!

Thanks guys. I thought I would have nightmares last night as I kept playing it all over in my head again and again. I tend to do things like this and then dream about them anyway. Luckily, nothing last night and I slept fine.
You're right Paul. It's in the back of my mind always. I have a second LT1 that needs a bottom end rebuild that I've thought of building. I'd love to be different but within reason of course. It'll be a while before I get into all this anyway. I'll most likely do everything in stages regardless of direction, ie get the engine and everything in and working, then start modifying. The biggest redo will be headers and turbo piping if I go that route. Everything else will be built to handle whatever I throw at it.

Sorry about your accident and your car.
The good news is that you are not hurt, that would have really sucked.
I would try ls1tech.com. Sometimes they have LT1 builds on there as well as LSx.
Good luck and sorry about the car.

That bites, it was a good looking car. But you have a sweet looking backup! I have a 96 WS6 too myself and have this very fear of wiping out in the rain. Can't wait to see your project get rolling.
