OPTIMA Batteries is the "Official Power Source" of Good Guys and as such, we will be bringing our OPTIMA branded big rig to both Pleasanton and Del Mar, CA. We are looking for two bitchin Lateral-G quality vehicles for each event. The Pleasanton event is March 28 and 29th and the Del Mar event is April 3 - 5th. We would like both vehicles to be brought to our display late in the afternoon the day before the event starts and it can be retrieved around 3:00 pm the last day of the event. In exchange for the use of vehicle, OPTIMA will provide each owner 2 complimentary tickets to the event, a complimentary entry for judging, and one free OPTIMA Battery.

Our preference is to use vehicles that already have an OPTIMA Battery, but we can provide one if necessary. Requirements to display in the OPTIMA booth are pretty simple - the car must be of above average build quality with the potential to draw spectators to the display and it must run and drive without issues so that we may put it inside the rig and place it in the booth each day. As well, we also require an OPTIMA decal placed on the front or rear window or battery box if the battery is hidden.

If you are interested, contact me via email at [email protected] with your name, cell phone number, short description of the vehicle and 4-5 pics. We can't promise any awards, but we do get very high profile placement and both display vehicles at the two shows won awards last year. We appreciate all of your support.

lol... Jody, I'd say that I would help you and I'd work for food, but that still might cost as much as having the Ring Brothers build the car. Including shipping.

I did it once, I might be able to do it again, but I would like to run the autocross.

Hey Mike, There is not an Autocross in Pleasanton at the March show (only at the May show) so you have nothing to worry about as far as that is concerned.

Ahhh, well then I can do it if they want my car again. It does look a lot better now then it did before.

Hey Guys, I have one confirmed for Pleasanton already - Chris Flatmoe will be bringing his 66 Mustang Fastback that was recently featured in Car Craft Magazine. We really appreciate everyone's support and look forward to seeing many of you at the Cali events. Be sure to stop by the OPTIMA big rig and introduce yourselves to us - we'll hook you up with an OPTIMA gift if you are a Lateral-G site member. See you in Cali!

Jimi and Lat-G Cohort,

Jimi, thanks again for choosing my car for the March GG. Very cool!

And, just to set the record straight, this car was built by Jim Brink in MN. and I bought it from him a few months ago. It has been in my garage (mostly) since I got it. I have tinkered with it a bit but Jim built such a great car there is not much I can do. The car was on the cover of Feb. 2008 Car Craft and was also selected as one of Car Craft's top 10 cars for 08. Brink built one hell of a car. Here is a link to the feature in Car Craft:

Take care all,
Chris

Hey guys, with your help, I have all my slots filled for the Pleasanton event. I still need one or possibly two for Del Mar the following weekend. We're excited to be able to display exclusively all Lateral-G members rides on the OPTIMA Batteries west coast tour! Hey Scott, do you have a sign or banner you can drop us - we'll put it in the display for all to see.

Hi Jim,

You're welcome to use my car if you like. I run an Optima battery in the trunk with a fancy shmancy billet battery tray(!) and I actually live in Del Mar and I'm already registered for the event. I was the December featured car of the Month here a few months ago so maybe I might meet your requirements.

My link here on Lateral-G is:
http://www.lateral-g.net/members/robinson/

I also have a website here:
http://www.69camaroproject.com/index.htm

I believe there are pics at both sites that show my Optima battery setup in the trunk. You'd be welcome to put the sticker back on the battery to make sure nobody gets confused. :)

Feel free to contact me at: [email protected]

I'm shooting you an email also.

Steve - how long does it take to get one of those specialty CA black plates...:unibrow:

At least this time when people say "Hey, that's that Bad Penny car" they'll be right...

Just wanted to mention to anybody that might be interested in submitting their car for the Del Mar show that Jimi from Optima just mentioned to me that they already have 2 1st-gen F-body cars for that show so are now looking for something a little different to complete their lineup. Considering that a large percentage of the site members' cars pictured on the home page are 1st-gen F-bodies, that might apply to a few of you reading this thread and considering your submittal.

Hope everyone is well. I think most members know that my fastback was selected to be parked in the Optima Batteries "booth" (it is really a huge display area) at this weekends Good Guys show in Pleasanton. Today I had a chance to get the car to the fairgrounds and get it staged before the show starts tomorrow. I forgot my camera but still wanted some pictures before the crowds come tomorrow so I took a few with the girlfriends cell phone camera. They came out OK and are attached.

While I was there I saw YouthPastor's silver Camaro roaming around the fairgrounds. Very cool car!
