Look at the bite on the front tires, good stuff, this car has NEVER had grip like that before.

You too, I need to get out more!!!!! Stinking responsibilities keep getting in the way, I'm lucky to make any events, and having the time to be prepared is out of the question. LOL

Maybe :-)

There was indeed a turn he always could close on me, honestly thought he was gonna be able to pull me on the straight..... but the little Nova had some oats in the tank :guns:

No denying they moved like they were bolted together on the straights. In fact, you, me , and Rich looked like we were doing some synchronized swimming moves as close as we were. Fun going at it, when the cars are that close in power.

Ran the Great Lake Muscle Car challenge over this past weekend, took third, but my favorite part of the weekend was Larry Woo and I in the back of the Farrington's Draggon Wagon. We were not belted in the back seat, so our weight was shifting from side to side on the autocross course. Sam Farrington wheeled is butt off, as Larry and I bounced around like a couple of bowling balls. The funny part was it was Sam's fastest run for the day, the pic shows the car pulling the front tire as the power is being laid down, and the weight is getting transferred. Fun stuff, thanks Sam for a great ride in the grocery getter.

Thank God the driver has a full-face helmet on - - that could have ruined what is an otherwise awesome picture! :poke:

Motorstate is one of the events that I really hate to miss. I'll just have to live vicariously by looking at the pics.

Someone compiled a video on this car build and posted it on You Tube. The guy spent a fair amount of time compiling it.

My favorite part is all the negative comments that are posted, I was really thinking about putting a Ford engine in this car, but after all the comments, I may just freshen the LS7. Reminded me of all the flaming hate mail I was getting while the car was being built, pissing off purists was a job for a while their. LOL

Over the weekend at the Motorstate Challenge I got to meet James Shipka and see the One Lap Camaro to my knowledge for the first time. With those cars competing, it was like 2008 all over again.

Highly vintage, from back in the day when people used to build things instead of hitting the easy button!

As a Ford guy that's owned a few Chevy's I am not insulted, Heck you saved that car from it's ultimate demise.
A job well done in my opinion!

I had pondered the idea of putting an LS in my Torino due to finances & performance, but I am too old and ornery to put up with peoples SH...y comments. I think it would have lead to a cage match, lol.

Lets not forget to add --- back in the day when WINNING something wasn't the goal. It was to build something you loved and go have fun with it.

Yeah, back in the day when it was considered a win if you didn't have to load your car onto a trailer to go home!

James's car is based in Indy right now. He did drive it a couple hours to Motorstate in Michigan which was awesome in my book. My ride was 12 hrs, my hearing is bad enough now from years of being around drag racing and 4 daughters. I don't think I could take the side exhaust for that long, pretty sure the car would do OK though. It is a "Hammer" to be used when needed LOL. If you notice I ran the exhaust all the way out the back on the AMC.

Ron, I'm not knocking you for trailering the Muttstang! Especially after I drove 6 hours to Good Guys Scottsdale in my Mustang with side exit exhaust. Pretty sure I suffered some minor, but permanent hearing loss, even with earplugs. Lost one of my earplugs on the way home, and was dizzy and almost fell out of my car when I got home. :lmao: I redid my exhaust after that.

My favorite was when I was in Vegas for Optima. Payton King and I were driving my Mustang from SEMA to Pahrump in the middle of the night, 120 MPH, freezing cold, raining its ass off. I looked at Payton and said " I just turned 50" We both burst out laughing, yeah we'll never grow up.

I know the road from Vegas to Pahrump well as we staged
our Pantera track events there for many years. One year
we had three Panteras pickup speeding tickets coming back
from the track.. most of us were doing 130 plus in the flats
but slowed going up into the mountain areas where the officer
was waiting. Mine was only for 85 mph but the other two were
written for 103 and 112... The 112 guy used a ticket fixer in the
area.. a few weeks later he received a notice for his arrest... it
took a month or two to resolve that matter

I'm supposed to be working on another car that I started 6years ago, yet I can't seem to stop flogging this one. Ran Daytona with Aaron Oberle, Tom Farrington and Jimi Day this past weekend. It was probably the most awesome thing I've done in a car.

The high banks at speed are just hard to describe, adjectives like awesome seem to fall short. Hanging out with your buddies, is why we do what we do, but banking is a really close second. Thanks for talking me into it Aaron.

Pics are from Gary Rosier

Other then a big gearing faux pas, leaving me with a 145mph top speed. The car worked great, it is a hammer, beat on it and toss it back in the box.

Ron,
Great shots... great to see you out
running the car hard. I have spent countless
weekends working on my car and missing a
track event or running the car. The balance
of playing with one and working on the other
is always an issue.. every once in a while its good to
run one so you remember why we build them

I may finish my Firebird some day but I have been
running my Pantera over to the coast or to CC or
just for a drive.. Track day coming up

Bob
