To All:

Who all has built, or knows someone who has built a LS3 with a Supercharger?

Can you tell me/us what parts they used, how large it was, type of blower, amount of boost etc?

and,

What kind of power did it make and what rpm?

Primarily interested in pump gas examples.

From what I have read, for the money, these engines are the ones to go with for a pump gas, boosted configuration.

I have been told a 416 ci is about as big you would want to go with that block. I'm not sure how far down to go down with the standard compression to make the most efficient/most HP/Most Torque, and how much Boost you could run with an inter-cooler? (Thinking about 8 psi cr, and 8-12 psi of boost if it will work properly at that level.)

I'm leaning towards the Large Eaton/Magna-Charger with the air to water inter-cooler, in large part due to the broad power band it helps develop, and it appears to be very durable for extended service.

With the new vette making 620 hp and having to meet emissions codes, I would think making 700+ hp should be fairly easy.

Does anyone have a feel how much durable hp this engine would be capable making with all forged bottom end, CNC Heads, very high quality valves, springs, retainers etc. and a really well thought out Cam Shaft, and EFI.

Any information would be very appreciated.

Thanks,

Ty

We are in the process of building an LS3 416 with an Harrop HTV (TVS) 2300 supercharger. If you want the Eaton 4 lobe blower, then you have go Harrop. Magnacharger has no plans to sell the 2300 supercharger. I had Harrop develop a Cog drive for my blower setup. Wegner built the accessory drive for the Harrop, but we are not using their 8 rib blower pulley setup. I just received the L92 heads that have been cnc ported. The pistons are a custom piston are on order. As for horsepower, we are hoping for more than 700. Just have to wait and see.

Jeff:

Once again, thanks for the information. You always seem to be at the forefront of all the cool stuff.

Without using the Harrop and just the Magna-Charger Product, (Which sounds like a lot less headache). What kind of results or thoughts do you have with that system?

Thanks Again.

Regards,

Ty

Has anyone else seen anything in just a Magna-Charger Configuration? (aka LS9 Clone)

This is an supercharged LS build that looks very nicely packaged.

First, I support both Wegner & Magnuson.

I bought MY 2300 TVS from Jerry Magnuson, also the LS-92 intake, intercooler, etc.

I bought the lower blower pulley that Casey Wegner made (around the ATI dampner), Casey's water pump spacers, bolts.

The LSX block I used is stock 4.00" bore, LS-7 crank, LS-7 pan, oil pump, Crower rods with .990 pins, LS-92 heads.

I also have fitted CP "flat top" pistons.

I hope to "dyno" in two weeks.

Magnuson has released for sale the LS-3 (G-8) supercharger kit using the 2300 TVS.

I hope to post some pictures/dyno sheets before SEMA.

Is this an older Engine built by the old Wheel 2 Wheel, or the new Wheel 2 Wheel?

What is the website of the builder of your new engine?

Thanks,

Ty

I believe it's the Wheel 2 Wheel that just closed a month or two ago. He got it built earlier this year as I recall.

Great news. I hope it won't be $10k like the Harrop kit.

Dyno numbers are:

650hp/700tq. Boost 11.5

702hp/745tq. Boost 13.2

4.0 Block/4.065 Bore/ 416 c.i. L92 Heads

Speartech harness

Kurt Urban built the motor and Dynoed it also. Great guy and super knowledgable.

Pump gas.

Pics of blower installs please.

I am thinking of running an LS with a procharger in our convertible.

Hi Jeff, I would be very happy with most of the items,
"first class".

I would ask why Ross made the piston dish "round" ?

The LS-3 pistons that I fit all have the shape of the LS-3 head (Squish Area) machined in to the piston crown.

What is the top ring materal and style ?
What is the diameter of the pin ?
