What do you guys prefer on housings, 4 link bars, and small components such as caliper brackets and such?

personally I like to powder coat as much of that small stuff as I can. I drive my car as much as possible so powder coating holds up better from rock chips or scratches. where I work there is a powder coating facility so small government jobs are fine. If I had to pay for it, it would depend on the wear of the part I think.

I also prefer powdercoating, especially on suspension items as it's harder to chip. The only exception is if you need a specific color that you cannot find in powdercoat, but they've got nearly everything now.

my experience has always had coated parts holding up better than painted, and I've done both. I touch up powdercoat all the time, but only in the normal black and common shades. Some colors would be tough to match.

Another vote for powdercoat.

Thanks for the replies.I did not realize that some folks clearcoat over powder coating.

You guys have any favorite under body shots of cars that shows good color contrast and detail? Thanks

another thing to keep in mind with powdercoating stuff is that they sandblast all parts before powdercoating them so alot of times paying the powdercoater is cheaper than having parts sandblasted or spending the time to clean a part and then having to paint it.

I personally prefer powdercoating but as mentioned above can have some orange peel in it, which isn't an issue if its not a show car.
