depends on the harness.. an oem harness isnt long enough to mount the ECU in the passenger compartment.... an aftermarket one is...

Chris, I think I'm putting mine on the inside od the passenger fender. towards the front , mounted on the inner fender. it will get plenty of air and you won't be able to see it. The other option is through the tunnel and hidden in the front part of the console.

Mine is inside the car under the dash near the center. Stock harness with a
grommet near the top of the bellhousing. No pics sorry.

sweet that should hide everything nicely- I just need to see if I have enough room with the vintage air- guess i better mock it up

Not the best picture but here's where I mounted mine.

Jay, That looks Good. Where did you bring in the harness and what vintage air unit did you use? Any more picks?
Also how did you mount it?

I put mine on the firewall above the passenger feets. It is sandwiched between the VA unit and the firewall and the stock harness has been used.

I made my own bracket for the VA unit. It was made so that it was enough room for the ECM. My bracket also moved the VA unit more to the left so that the floor vents are more centered over the transtunnel. It required some cutting in the dashboard bracing.

Under the dash is usually the best, but try to also make it as excessible as possible also. In the event a wiring or PCM issue crops up, the last thing you want to do is disassemble the car to test a narness or replace a PCM. I have tuned quite a few hybrid LS cars as well as FAST and DFI and whent the units are really tucked away it can become a nightmare.

Hope this helps.

Is it ok to mount the computer under the parcel shelf in the trunk???

yes but you would have a very long harness and maybe a hard time running the harness in a place that it won't get damaged.

I was thinking of running it along the tunnel ?

Anyone else tried mounting their pcm in the trunk?

I put mine on the firewall above the passenger feets.

Same here. Speartech modified stock harness.
