Hi.
I'm new to this forum, but have a question i hope you can help me with.
I have a 1971 Z28 where i have installed a full Global West Suspension,
my problemis that after that the front wheels cannot turn as much as
before with the original A-arms, I now only have approx 1.5 turns on
the steering wheel lock to lock. Hope someone else have tried the same
and came up with a solution.

Have you installed wider wheels? What seems to be limiting the travel? Did you change anything else such as the steering gearbox or any of the steering linkage?

Gear box has been changed, but the problem is the the spindel hits the
lower A-arm, seem strange. My best guess is to grind some material of
the spindel. If i take off like 1/4 of an inch i think that will do it. Just
wondering if any one else has had the same problem.

do not grind on the control arm, their must be something else holding things up.

What part of the spindle is hitting? The steering stop, or some other part? Also, how is your toe measurement. If the car is not yet aligned, and the toe is way to far in, that could be a great deal of your trouble.
Take a few pics if you can and post them up.

I have a '69 with the Global West control arms. I had the same problem. The lower control arms have a little button welded on for a steering stop. Most people have the standard steering arms on the spindle so you don't get the travel you would with the short steering arms. I just ground the button down 3/16". I need to grind more though. Don't worry, it's safe and you don't have to worry about your alignment from doing it either.:thumbsup:

Its the steering stop on the spindel that is hitting the tube on the lower
control arm way to early, i can see i'm not the only one so i will
grind some of the stop ( not the tube ), and yes car is aligned.
Thanks for all you input. Hope to get around to it this weekend,
will let you know if i get it solved.

I ended up grinding off some of the rear lower part on both spindels, seems
to do the trick.
