Erv Woller, North Lake, WI, '69 Camaro "RAZOR" built by the Ring Bros. That's two years in a row for the Ring Bros and Erv's first title here in Columus. This year's competition was by far the best, the Autocross amped up the event to a whole new level. Thank you to the adminitrators of the this board for allowing us to promote the news and winner's of this award here on Lateral-G. Good night from Columbus!

So they did a Mustang, and a Camaro; they have to do a Mopar of some sort for next year to see if they can make three in a row. :unibrow:

That would be cool 3 in a row and i have to say that the engineered peices on these cars really is a great detail that the judges just have to droool over, must be something in the detail waters and i agree mopar would be sweet!

who did the interior on Razor? i know Tracy Weavor did the last winner "Reactor"...its probably the nicest interior ive seen done on Camaro. The only thing id change on that car is those dam Goodyear Eagles..all the attention to detail then put those crap tires on.

That has got to suck big time!!!

I hate to say it as the car is incredible but there is a lot of plastic on that car. Look at how much cracked off on the corners.

Then look at the lines that tie into the exhaust tips. Amazing design work.

Wow! What a great show. First off Congrats to the Ring Bros. What a great couple guys and man our these guys on top of their game! And the owner drove the wheels off that thing on the autocross! I was shocked! AWESOME car and without a doubt the right car to win. Personally a little stunned they could get 2 in a row, almost no one thought they could. Hats off the the GG crew for not letting last years results affect this year.

Troy's car was fabulous and I still hope to grow up and be like him someday! I felt horrible for them having the trouble on the autocross. There was a little grumbling about them not being on the show field in the morning and doing the parade. we also had a "repair" Friday morning and was told with certainty that we had to back on the show field before 12 noon and than all SMOY contenders must parade over as a group and do the autocross to be pre qualified for SMOY. There was a lot of whisper, Wheres Troy when we all showed up at the autocross. I have to admit I was thinking, as well as a lot of others, there was a open slot at the top when he did not show up. Again, as A builder I sympathize the problems they were having and the car is killer no doubt.

I am most happy for Jeff. He not only built a nice car, but drove the wheels off it on the autocross, and is a super cool guy to boot, so way to go Jeff.

Time Machines always builds nice cars and they ran the sheot out of their car on the autocross after Mike was telling me for a few weeks they WOULD NOT be running the car hard. When they over drove it and spun it out, instead o limping off, it was john Force time to the finish line. I thought the front tires were going to come off the ground when they matted it on the back stretch!

The black 68 was a neat car. I have to think it got extra consideration for setting the fastest autocross times, and deservedly so. He ran the hell out of it, and is obviously a good driver.

For ourselves and Project Emptynest, we were just honored to be on the field next to some of those cars. We had some "unfinished" details as the motor put us SO FAR BEHIND that obviously would hurt us. We also could have used a much better driver for the autocross. Like Troy, we fired Emptynest Weds night late, drove it on the trailer, and went to the show. Friday morning I drove it 1 mile to the show field from the hotel. The autocross was miles 1 to 1.5, LOL! All and all the car did good. Needs fuel injection tuning as I believe the twin TBs are creating some interesting additional tuning. Lisa and I drove it around town last night and put 30 miles on it. Actually the car did pretty damn good for a out the door and go deal!

So my fastest time was 19.3 I think. I simply overdrove the **** out of it, caught a cone on one faster run by a tennie. So I threw the keys to Scott Pruett and he went out and busted off a low 18 having never driven the car 10 feet, LOL! The injection is having a "tip in" issue when you come on and off the gas fast that is crippling it in tight corners, almost starving it in corners. Almost as if running out of gas which causes a Oh **** moment when the thing comes back on at 4000 RPM and you are at 650LBS of torque, LOL! Had that starving issue been cured I think we could have tuned him around much faster.

I am a little surprised that scott's time did not count. The killer 18.2 (amazing BTW) time for the 62 Impala was set by celebrity driver Kyle Tucker and it counted. But I guess if you consider Kyle was the builder and drove it much like I was the builder and drove Lisa's car I guess it is the same thing. Times did not count anyway. i just wanted to be the guy that had the balls to hand a driver the keys. no one else did!

It was really, really, REALLY nice to see some of the absolute World of Wheels show cars suffer on the autocross. There were at least half a dozen cars I thought we would br pushing off the coarse as they were running so badly. Some of those guys were sweating the autocross real bad. A couple would stop after each run and check there car for sctraches, rubs, chips, after every lap!

I have to take off my hat to Godguys and Air Ride for making the autocross requirment. And as they thought, while times did not matter, it only ook a couple burnouts to let all the participants know they would need to do more then coast the coarse! I am almost certain that while they said times did not count, that had there been no autocross, a couple other indoor show cars would have displaced some of the top 5.

For us, we had a great time cruising around in Lisa's EmptyNest and Michael's Prodigy. Michael kicked our ass a couple times last night in a couple of stop light wars. That's OK, When we get Lisa's motor tuned, I see some serious grudge racing in our future. I cannot wait. We may not have won the big trophy, but I did get to cruise the Nationals with my wife and our boy in a couple badd ass Pro Touring cars! And that my friends has much more value then a trophy!

And now we have a long ride home this evening!

first off congrats to the ring bros the car is simply awsome and being from wi even better, now on the filler there are only a handfull of people in this world that can truly metalfinish every piece of a car, every extremly straight car has filler in it period. Did anybody watch any of the shows on boyd or overhaulin the whole car is glazed or skim coated with a coat of filler and then primed and blocked and primed and blocked and primed and blocked etc., etc. filler is only bad if its put over crappy metal work or if its super thick every one of those cars in the top ten probably have the same amount of filler on them.

I may get a in a bit of trouble for my opinion but that was certainly no "skim coat" of filler. I, and a lot of other people that saw the damage, was simply amazed at the amount of filler in both of those panels. There were more than a few people talking about it.

Did you happen to see the damage in person?

That is correct. Mike said that the customer didn't even know about it until they met up with the customer in Columbus. All about the details, and Mike & Jim did a great job. Pictures do not do the car justice.

yeh i read it on the goodguys website...says they repainted the whole car in a 96hour period during the long weekend..just shows you how serious they must of been about perfection..if anyone had seen it at the Goodguys event in Nashville maybe they could fill us in on the paint before they reshot it?

I did not talk to Mike and Jim about the repaint at Columbus. I did talk to them at Nashville and talked about the funky "cast" the carbon fiber was putting on the rear quarter and the way it made the quarter look darker then the rest of the car. I can only assume they were trying to paint that color difference out? Maybe they tinted the front part of the car? I am only speculating, but you can see the slight color difference in the preview pictures from Nashville on the GG site, and I did notice it was not so obvious at Columbus.

You have to hand it to them, they wanted it dead on, did it, and won. And I bet they ate the cost too!

How do you compete with that.

Frank I you sure your not taking about the body line put in the bottom of the door and flowing to the rear. Mike pointed out the detail to me on this body mod but from a distance is shows a shade of color variation reflecting from the added body line. I also noticed one of the seams on the carbon by the hood is gone also from the madison show. Im not sure how they got rid of it but Gemini also did the on off Carbon hood on the black/gold ragtop and I noticed the seams right away on the cowl side.

Concrats to all the winners and all the people that had the guts to build these amazing cars and take them out on the track. the people I grew up with would not dare spend the time and money on a vehicle and then take it out and thrash it. What I think is amazing is that I have pretty much watched all these cars being built and met most of the guys somewhere or someplace. I feel like I am part of an elite group of builders and for that I thank Scott for putting this sight togethor.

I was just cruising the site and realized I never said congratulations to Ring Bros on this post. I did in person and on some of the other threads, but just wanted to say it again here, Congratulations! That car is unbelievable, and I'm another one who can't wait to see what they do next.
