Howdy folks. It's that time of year again. Time to zero in on the world's most bitchin' Street Machines as they head to Columbus to compete for this year's crown.

I would like some help in assembling a preview of who plans on coming to Columbus this year. Here is what I'd like you to submit if you would please:
- A jpeg photo or rendering of your Street Machine
- Engine, transmission, chassis, dyno and tire/wheel info (keep it basic and brief)
- Body and paint information
- a List of any awards the car has won

I will compile this and post it to our website ASAP. Please send all information to me at: [email protected]

Here is the criteria for this year's award:
Goodguys/Air Ride Technologies Street Machine of the Year:
Presented at: 11th Goodguys PPG Nationals, July 11-13, Columbus, OH
Who’s Eligible: Street Machines 1954 through 1972 vintage.
How to Enter the Competition: All award candidates must park in the Pro’s Pick Area Friday and Saturday July 11th & 12th as well as participate in a three-lap Street Challenge Auto Cross Friday afternoon, July 11th (Autocross Hours 10am-2pm) at the Ohio Expo Center. Autocross lap times will not determine the overall winner but style points do count!
Criteria: This award is designed for a cutting edge Street Machine which combines masterful build quality with extreme performance. Quality of craftsmanship, body & paint, overall engineering, the three F’s (fit, form & functionality) stance and overall creativity in design and concept is what the selection committee will seek.

Thanks for your time!

I love it, they have to compete in the autocross.
They might get trailered there but they got to do the autocross.
I wonder who will show up and just drive the course at 5mph.

Trust me, if they don't finish construction on 71 at the fairground exit, there will be a lot of autocross driving. As of today, the three lanes going each way verge way to the right. So much so that the 2 right lanes go down the exit ramp and up the entrance ramp to get back onto the freeway. There is not exit there right now. Can you say "orange barrel" and "detour"?

Only two guys have sent responses to my request for pre-event hype for the Street Machine of the Year award at the Goodguys 11th PPG Nationals! I gotta beleive there are more than two guys coming right? Where is everyone hiding? Are they in their garages and shops thrashing? Lemme hear it! Thanks!

why would you want to tell people you were coming? I think if you were going to enter and you were trying to win you would just show up.

No doubt...You guys coming in from out of town, bring a GPS or be prepared for a nice tour of Columbus, be advised to know all the routes into and out of the fairgrounds...This is one if not THE main entrance into the place....

We will be there at the show with our rig and two cars, one for the SMOTY 1969 Camaro "DRACO" but we have to get the car completed to get you finished shots. We will hopefully be shooting the car next week done. Cant wait to do the auto cross with it. Our car is built as a everyday driver so it will see the road all the time.

Thanks for the heads up on the road construction!! I am staying at the Clarion hotel on E. Dublin Granville Road. Is there another way that's not too complicated to get to the fair grounds from my hotel if hwy 71 is out of order?? Thanks again.

Wow, I'm shocked about Nemesis on the list. Great group of cars that are well deserving of the honor. Good luck to everyone that has an entry!

I'm kicking myself for not being able to make it this year. Have fun everyone, hopefully I'll be there next year!

Hey guys. Hope to see a lot of Lateral G fans and members out at the Goodguys 11th PPG Nationals this weekend. Air Ride Technologies is bringing in road race legend Scott Pruett as a guest celebrity. The word is that Pruett will take a few cars around the Auto Cross which will be cool.

As for the road construction on I-71, our event director Harry Daviess has been assured by the Columbus police that other than routine event traffic congestion, there should not be any delays. They will have all the road work either finished or the roadside equipment will be cleaned up and put away by this Friday morning.

I will try to post the SMOY winner here Saturday night after we get done. Thanks and happy hot rodding!

The Autocross will be held in the East Lot where the Special Parking Areas are staged. Its to the left as you come in through Gate #4. There's a bunch of blacktop out there.

As for Ferrambo, I spoke to Tim Diver's and the car will not make another appearence this year at a show. It might go across the block at Barrett Jackson but that's not definite

Thanks John. Sorry to hear that. I believe not flogging the car might hurt its overall value at BJ. Like a hot blonde, looks can only go so far.

Not sure that running a million dollar show car around the cones would increase it's value? I think buyers in that category are looking for show piece but hey you never know?

How does BJ convince these guys to auction their cars? They have done horrible return wise with the no reserve.
