View Full Version : Pantera EFI and pressure regulator

I was hoping Lance from Pantera might see this and chime in.

My dad is having a 55 Chevy built running a Wegner L92 with Pantera EFI using the GMPP carb manifold fitted with fuel rails. As supplied by Wegner the regulator is plumbed before the fuel rails with regard to flow (on the supply side). The guy who is building the car insists that the regulator must be plumbed after the fuel rails (on the return side).

I couldn't tell you which is right, but I seem to remember hearing of systems plumbed both ways.

if its a return style regulator it should always be after the fuel rails for best preassure controll

you can do it either way if its done right however meaning you run to the regulator then out of the regulators other ports < not the return > to your rails then have the other end of the rail caped off.

you can have the regulator either way without issue.

My method would be to fill from the most opposite end of the regulator in the beginning of the total fuel rail path.

It is your system, so I would like to see it the way you recommend. Let me lay it out to see if I understand. From the tank into one fuel rail connected to the other fuel rail then the regulator and return to tank?

Maybe a photo would help?

When you make a post, scroll down from the box you are typing in and click on "manage attachments". You can browse and attach photos from there. There is a file size limit though.
