Well I haven't been on here in a few days..... I managed to break my ankle in three places at a childrens birthday party! I was getting a little sick of the party so I figured I would end it by falling 15' down a rope I had just climbed.
Party was held at a gym and the adults thought it would be a good idea to see who could go up the climbing rope the fastest. I won both going up AND down. I lost my grip at the top and came down...gravity is a beotch!
I ended up with eight pins and a plate....I was a little bummed cuz I thought I would finally end up with a little titanium but they cheaped out and gave me stainless. It couldn't have happened at a worse time....my busy season is starting NOW! Oh well it could have been worse.

the top screw in the upper fixation isnt bi-cortical.. id say it needed a couple of turns to engage the threads fully in the corticalis on the opposite side... not sloppy... just be carefull (could also be that the gut doing the x-ray wasnt dead on 90 degrees of the brace..)
and excavator... what ever you do dont get any earth bacteria into that wound (not even one) .. they are anaerobic and will eat your leg

well the culprit is Clostridium perfringens and its habitet is soil.. and it causes.. youve guessed it gas-gangrene:faint: so just be carefull not to contaminate the wounds with soil and dirt.. the screws are solidly planted in your bones and especially in your tibia there is a very short distance to travel from skin level to the bone.. and your immune system has a real hard time fighting off an infection once its in bone.. the tissue just isnt vasculized enough...
anywat, it looks like the ancle joint it self didnt suffer so you will be humping allong shortly :D :D :D
