I pity you at car shows and stop lights. You are going to get sick of explaining the meaning. I don't know if I could keep from asking.:D

Since I am from the South and never lived anywhere but the South, I will say it is a Southern saying.
When describing a lot of anything, the saying goes, "you can't swing a dead cat with out hitting _____. You fill in the blank
When we would go to car shows, we would always ask "what car is going to be the dead cat this year?" There was always some brand or style of car that was about every 5th car you saw.
So when I started doing my pro-tour 69 Camaro, It became the "dead cat."
You can't swing a dead cat without hitting a pro-tour 69 Camaro.
You may as well print that explanation on fliers and hand them out at stoplights when people ask... it's going to be quicker that way!
Great looking car, man!

I'm from here and I have heard it all my life. Mark Twain even wrote about swinging a dead cat around being fun (Of course you'd be Huck Finn or Tom Sawyer).
Excellent Payton, just excellent. By the way dude, I finished my house we talked about when you swung through town. Haul your a$$ back through here so we can catch up.

Great Idea on the name. I'm a big fan of Irony.
If they don't understand that they probably wouldn't know what a "Polecat" is either.
Just kidding guys ALL areas have their slang. I haven't heard that phrase in a while and I have always liked it.
Anyway, "Kick Ass" Name.
I have a Porsche and before I got married, I had the the Plates, "9 Frau".
Most people didn't get it, but the ones who did, loved it.
My Father used to Drive a 78 Gold "Trans Am", with the Plates, "Pure AU".
Same reaction as my Porsche plates.

My wife thinks I am an idiot, but what is new.
I would like to think my car is finished, but I have been thinking about getting rid of my leaf springs, possibly changing rims and I have priced a nitrous system...all in the last few weeks.
Jim, I was going to try and get back over to Alabama to see a couple of my friends but baseball started for my boys and I feel like I am living on the pratice field.
I am going to the Year One Event. Trying to decide if I want to drive my car down or trailer it. Will you be there?
The Charlotte Auto Fair is here in a couple of weeks. Will you be here for that?

... They'll probably whine like they usually do, prior to knowing the facts. Of course, having baby-seal lined seats, with a mink-covered dashboard probably doesn't help, either. :D
