Submit your car/project to be a part of Lateral-g

Besides the growth we're seeing here at Lateral-g, there's another reason why I stepped up the hosting and went to a dedicated server - I wanted to be able to add a lot more cars/projects. As the site grows, so do the requests I receive from people that would like to have their cars featured. Until now, I had been concerned about space and bandwidth.

So here's the plan (which may change with time, lol), I'm going to accept up to 10 pictures of your car or project as well as any text you'd like. I'll build a webpage with those pictures and text the way I did for John Lipori's 69 Camaro webpage: www.Lateral-g.net/members/lipori69

I certainly could have gone the vBgarage direction, but I like the fact that our members will have a URL that they can share with anyone on the Net to show their car and you won't have to login to see the pictures. It's more personal. On the flip side, I cannot add a thumbnail on the Lateral-g homepage of every single car that's submitted. I'm going to create a page with links to the new 'Member's Rides' section. As it grows, I'll look at how best to organize it and make it flow.

As this new direction for Lateral-g takes off, I'm planning on picking one car/project a month to do a spotlight on. That spotlight will be on the homepage and it will offer more in-depth coverage on the car/build (more pictures, etc). I think it will be something cool to look forward to every month as well as building a larger online collection of cool Lateral-g Machines.

The only thing I'm looking for is that the submission should be of the Lateral-g Machine type car/build and not a restoration.

In the submission e-mail, please include your full real name, your Lateral-g screen name, and a tech sheet on the car (as big or small as you'd like - one sentence or 4 paragraphs). Attach the images and PLEASE PUT YOUR REAL NAME/SCREEN NAME in the subject line. It will help me GREATLY with the organizing as I receive e-mails.

Send your submission to [email protected]

This wouldn't be possible without the help of the Lateral-g sponsors. If you do any business with them, please let them know you saw their support on Lateral-g. :)

For ease of navigation, I put a 'Members' link at the top of the Forums page and on the Lateral-g homepage that takes you to the new members page.

Derek, if you plan on making it a Lateral-g Machine, that's good enough for me. Just outline your plans for the Chevelle in the text that you include in the e-mail.

I guess that means that I may have to show people that I actually made progress on my car then, huh? Future plans call for the P-T/ Lateral-G style treatment, but on more of a budget nature. Oh, and that future parts isn't exactly near future. Distant future is more like it. Well, actually, I can't say what part of the future.

Ok, I'm just gonna run around in circles waving my hands around in the air for a while now. :willy:

The last week I have been working on installing the 5" gauges into the 2002 dash and my transition piece from the 69 Dash to the 2002 dash. Its getting closer and closer. The gauges all work now I just need to finish the transition piece. Then I will get some more video and pics then post them.

I am rebuilding the show car I built with the help of my Dad when I was young, and going the "Pro-Touring" route. I have been drag racing for the past few years, just sold my weekend driver that went 9.70's on pump gas and drag radials. My other car is a little Ford Fairlane. It is not as serious as most of the cars featured here, but here are the basics and you can decide if it has "evolved" enough to fit this site.

1964 Ford Fairlane 500
308 inch small block, semi-serious, making 350-375hp
Tremec 3550
8.8 out of a late model Explorer, narrowed, 31 spline, Traction lock, disk brakes, adapting the Pandhard bar and over-ride traction bars if possible, 7/8 sway bar
AeroSpace front discs, different springs/shocks, 1 inch sway bar

Still up in the air on wheels/tires, these cars have very small wheelwells and I don't plan on tubbing the car. I will probably go the route of 275/35/18's on the rear and 245/40/18's on the front. My current pics are of it in the garage with the engine out and an old set of 14 inch steel wheels, but at one point it was a 93 point show car. I am planning on doing Cruising The Coast and part of the Power Tour next year. I just found this site, really like it, but wondered if nice but lower budget cars still fit the mold? Interested in seeing pics, even if the car doesn't make the webpage?

Welcome to the board, Cody.

It sounds like your car fits the mold, as most all of us are building old cars to accelerate, brake, and handle at the level (and beyond) Detroits latest performance offerings.

To have your car featured, send pics and info to Scott at [email protected]

my 79 camaro isnt much now because i'm in highschool and have a limited budget but it's actually been coming along pretty well. i already got some 11 inch tires on the back because thats all i could fit without looking stupid. the exhaust is work in progress and its mostly body work now but what do u expect from a 400 dollar car that didn't run in a year. i got everything running in 2 days. i'll try to get her outside tomorrow if its sunny so i can take some nicer pics.
do u think i should submit it?

My 72 Hemi Javelin is progressing fine and I plan to try to finish it up this summer. I started with a 72 Javelin shell and added lots of stuff from a 2004 Hemi truck, including the drivetrain and dash as well as most of the power options. The car rides on Shockwaves in the front with a mostly stock for now front suspension. I have a Mustang rack hooked to the Hemi pump and steered by the truck wheel. I had to section the dash about 12" for it to fit. In the rear the car rides on an Air Ride angled 4 link and Shockwaves. It has an 8.8 disc brake rear out of an Explorer with 3:73 limited slip gears. The back has been minitubbed for 17x11" wheels. I added homemade subframe connectors to stiffen up the chassis. I did not put a cage in this car since I already have a Prostreet 77 AMX. Pictures can be found on Photobucket.com under Hemi Javelin.

I'm New and pc stupid so beare with me. I have built Hot Rods as a hobby in the past. I have finally given in and am starting to build my first muscle car. I just bought a barn find 69 Camaro that has been stored away in Az for the last 26 years. All is not totally great as it was stored with a broken out back window so the trunk is rusted out. I am going to build my own subframes to carry C5 suspension front and rear. I have done highly modified corvette suspensions on my Hot Rods but this will be the first C5. I would like to hear from those that have good knowledge and experience. Thanks. Dj

I'm still in the building phase. Just finished subframing and installing/narrowing the C4 IRS. Can't wait to blast through the curves in the Ozark Mountains that I call home.

Here is the beginning of my project which is a '69 Z/28 Camaro. I originally purchased the car when our daughter was two years old. Well, she'll turn 25 this October. She has been married for the last three years and just had our first grandchild, which is a boy. Hopefully as he begins to speak maybe his first words will be Hot Rod Camaro. Since family has come first for the last 23 years I'm now gearing things up to begin with my Camaro. The fire hasn't burned out and I'm anxious and excited to get started. Let me know what you think. The pics I'm sending are what I'll be starting out with and trust me I know I have a long way to go with this car.
