Beautiful Shop Timewarp. I wish I had a garage that was that small.. I have to make due with a 22x22.
Thanks All! the shop is 1600 sq ft, a bit small when I have a couple projects torn apart but does the trick. I also have a 1000 sq ft garage on the house to keep other toys etc. And two storage sheds for the overflow from that.
HUGE storage area above garage but its too high to put anything up there... The office and bath does take up a fair amt of room but for how many trips per day I have to go bathroom... It gets used more than most tools! LOL
I keep the temp T-Shirt "weather" in the garage and humidity around 50% year round.
Its seems the more tools and equipment I buy, the the smaller the garage gets! LOL
Now the tools and equipment take up the better part of 800 sq ft. Add in the extra parts and a 1000 sq ft garage is too small WITHOUT a car parked in it.
I always tell the wife. "I need a 239 car garage and a studio apartment, BECAUSE I could always add on to the GARAGE"

Snapped some pics of our garages tonight. We built our detached a couple years ago and never painted the interior. It's getting painted this weekend so we moved everything over to the attached. Then we're moving eveything back and having the attached taped/textured and painted next week.

I'll give you A+ for clever storage!!
I used to do all kinds of work out front of my old house (before moving here and building my the shed)... and my neighbors hated it.... until they broke the hinge off their garbage can lid and needed it welded... and the other neighbor needed his lawnmower blade sharpened... etc. THEN I became the go to guy!

I haven't posted much, although I am on the site often following different threads. My car has been on the back burner for a long time and now I am working steady on it so I have been spending quality time in my shop. My garage is 32'x55' with a storage area in the back for work and a 2nd floor that is drywalled but unfinished. Garage has central heat and air and a full bath that is not finsihed. I figured on all the essentials in case my wife locks me out for spending too much time out there. I haven't heard it yet, but the camaro has only been back home for 2 months now after being gone for a couple of yrs. I know it is coming sooner or later.

My car spent the last year down close to you. My friend (Zeglins Automotive)relocated there a few years ago and I had him do all the metal work on the car. He is a great mechanic if you are ever in need. He is off of Townsend Rd. He does great body and paint work also. My Mom has a summer home in Massey's Landing. I had the car media blasted down there too. I can't remember the name of the guy that did the media blasting but I remember he had a very nice collection of antique items in his shop.

Going to interesting shops gives some of the participants an inside view of cool projects that they normally wouldn't get to see. It also gets the shops some more visibility, from true car enthusiests, that they normally wouldn't get and hopefully they can get a customer or two out of the whole thing

Here's some recent pics with the new lift installed. I had been researching these lifts for a few years and almost pulled the trigger a couple of times. I have recently come into a situation where I need to store 4 vehicles so this unit ended up being the ideal solution. This is model HD9-SW 9000 lb capacity, 16 ft wide. The outer runways are fixed, but the inside pair are adjustable to the width of the cars being stored. 110V power supply and pneumatic release locks. Quality seems to be pretty good and it went together in about 6 hours. Here's a few pics.

It's funny because people always ask about what a "car" or a part costs.... but they never look around at the infrastructure it takes to build them, and ask what that costs!

Thanks Greg - I'm really happy with how it's come together - - - It won't fit a Toter-Home or anything, but it's my little paradise. ;) For some reason I always feel better after buying a tool that I'll use over and over again, than after buying a part. Good point on the "phrasing". I'm already misunderstood by my non-car guy friends, so I don't need to add any fuel to that fire.

Not too much kicking and screaming going on. Especially now that I can get car parts much easier than in Hawaii. The motocross tracks are pretty good out here too.
The shop is 30'x40' and is air conditioned, heated, and has a bathroom. No need to go in the house anymore :)
I've added some storage and a couple of work benches too. I plan on putting up dry wall and adding some sort of flooring at some point, but right now it's more than perfect for what I need. Although I think the ceiling is a little low for a lift.

My set up in the back yard. 36x28, would love it to be bigger like all car guys, but it works for me. I also have an attached 36x28, so the back yard shop is full on hobby shop.

The house I bought had a 24x24 that seemed like enough at first, but it's really not enough room for a big project. haha

Spent Sunday cleaning out the garage and making room for the mustang.

The pile behind the 57 still needs to be dealt with, it's a garbage and for sale section now.
http://i728.photobucket.com/albums/ww281/basherboys/Mobile%20Uploads/image-1.jpg (http://s728.photobucket.com/user/basherboys/media/Mobile%20Uploads/image-1.jpg.html)
Measures roughly 20x40 which works well enough. The plan is to put something in the backyard in a year or two and rip this one down.

I purged a couple years ago, at one point I had my bronco, a Henry J the Studebaker and my dads 64 sport fury all packed in....nothing got worked on other than the Studebaker. Kind of nice having it set up for just two cars.

Me? No, I was a FAST team Marine. We trained a little with SEAL teams when the units were first formed, I was part of the first group in 1987.
The Fountains the teams were using in the late 80's were kevlar hulled but otherwise standard offshore racing boats with no frills but a lot of com equipment and armament. Team 6 had 4 of these craft, all in a dark blue. In 1990 they had new boats that were specifically built to their specs and they were painted in a camo pattern. These you can find today for sale, the early ones were pretty much destroyed in operational use.

YEAH ROB!!
Would you believe that photo in the great Pacific NorthWET?? That was taken TODAY...
There truly is no place better in the summer (when the sun comes out) than here. No big bugs - no hail storms busting your windows - no tornado sirens - rarely any flooding (and only then if you live ON the river that's flooding) - no humidity.
All of this wonderfulness for AT LEAST 60 WHOLE DAYS PER YEAR (July 12th 'til September 15th)!!
EEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!
Lol!!! ...'was reading back on some ideas for the shop when i came across this... So sunny day's are about to end soon at your place eh Greg?
For me, here in Quebec, its just the beginning of the best days the whole year generally brings!! Sunny w/ 18*to 22/23* with generally a light wind flipping the leafs, perfect for working outside under the car port while all dressed up to be protected and NOT be sweating it coffee in hand!!! (Car port is in front of the shop/ and same size as it @ 20x36' for total of 20x72 "shop").
Ooohhhh coming winter.... Please be like the last few ones; short duration and low on snow!!! (Hurray for global warming!!!..... Shhhh!! Dont tell anyone i said that!!)

Thx. Floor is porcelain wide plank tile. PEI rating of 4, full redguard floor sealer under it. Grout is all industrial epoxy (heat and chemical resistant). It's designed to be abused. My house 3 car garage has 100% epoxy solids floor and it's been abused pretty hard in the last 5 yrs.

Yes. The top came in 4 pieces that butt up against each other and sit on about 5/8" plywood. You can kinda see the seam in one of the pics under the center of the tv. It is right between the two screws on the face.

How do you like the hand pump jack? I would love to add one of these to my benpack lift.

I'll answer for him... I have two of them and they are awesome. Worth every penny.

They work great. Shop around for a deal on one.The hand pump works fine for me. They also have air powered ones but not worth dragging a air hose out and it's really easy to hand pump it.
