This is my second car and I've had it since
1983 when I bought it for my daily driver.
I parked my Boss Mustang during the winter
months, so I wanted a cool car to drive year
round. It was a 1960 2-door Ranch Wagon and
most people thought it was butt-ugly. As
could be expected, after a few harsh Boston
winters and a few too many parties during
the summer on Cape Cod, the old Batmobile
(as my buddies called it) was getting
used-and-abused. I eventually had to park it
in the early 90s due to a few dents and
rust, but I always had thoughts of someday
rebuilding it.

Around '97 I had a great vision of chopping
the top and grafting the doors and B-pillars
from a '60 Starliner onto it. It's a long
story, but after attempting the work myself,
I quickly realized I was in way over my head
and eventually brought the car to Extreme
Rod & Custom in Portland Maine to finish the
work. As you can see - Extreme did an
awesome job. They finished the metal work
on the body and suspension and gave it back
to me in July 2005 so I could continue
working on it myself and finish what I could
do. What you see here is the car as of
March 2006 as I am prepapring to load it
onto a trailer and bring it back to Extreme
so they can complete the body & paint. We
plan to have the car at some national events
this summer - so stay tuned!!
