I've always wanted to
build a 69 El Camino protourer with Viper or ZR-1 spec rolling stock. When
I sold my Callaway Aerobody ZR-1, I took some of the money and completely
changed the suspension & drivetrain of my prostreet 69
Camino.Chassis mods that have been done are
Global West tubular A-arms w/Delalum
bushings and Baer 13" Track front brakes with a fully braced Alston Fab 9
rear w/Detroit Locker, Moser axles,& Motive Gear 4.11 cogs to go along with
the Alston four link and Baer 12" Touring rear brakes. Ride quality is taken
care of by four-way independent Air Ride Shockwave coilovers at each corner.
I removed the old Muncie and replaced it with a D&D
Performance Viper T56
,Centerforce clutch assy, and Pro 5.0 shifter. Wheels are pin-drive
knockoff
PS Engineering 17x9 & 17x13 Kidney Beans with Kumho 275/40/17 & 335/35/17 V700
Victoracers, probably the only El Camino on the planet with true knockoffs.
Engine is a 1971 355" with Edelbrock Performer RPM
heads & intake, Carb Shop Stage II 670 Avenger Holley, Mallory HEI, Lingenfelter
hyd roller cam & Comp roller lifters, Hedman headers, and Vintage Air
Frontrunner w/140amp alternator & Detroit Speed and Engineering power steering
pump assy.
Exhaust system is a 2.5"/3" set-up with Flowmaster 40
series mufflers.
The interior is relatively stock for the moment but I
have new Arizen Racing
Sports black leather seats and a Momo Trek steering wheel that I need to
install.
Future plans include either a new 427sbc or 496bbc, six
point rollbar, and
Rick's Speed Shop custom stainless fuel tank.
