Camaro experts ! Your experience is needed!
Hello !
I could made a deal from a project 1969 camaro. Car has rolling body shell wich is blasted and primered. Rear fenders are are done. Shoud be no rust. New pair of front fenders ,radiator frame ,stock hood ,doors with window mechanism+hinges and steering column are allso included.
But allmost everything else is missing. all interior,heater,dash,instruments,inner fenders,bumpers,grill,lamps,wiring,tank,chrome trim,locks,front/rear windows,wipers etc all small stuff wich usually is taken of when car is going to be sand blasted.
There should be clear title.
I would give the car full DSE treatment , so not all stock parts are needed. Otherwise i would like make it look "stock" . Any estimates how much could all needed parts cost ? And who has biggest selection of camaro resto parts?
Of course engine/trans/rear/brakes/fuel system would go new. But how much is really on those "small parts" ?

Sounds like a good deal. How much into those small parts? It all depends on the parts you choose for the car. You have to get everything, and this can really vary with engine, tranny, paint, front clip, wheels and tires, brakes, everything. You should make a budget, and then find out exactly what parts you will need. I would contact year one as they did a vert and had to get everything for that car. They at least might have a parts list, and then you can find out what parts you want either off that list, or whatever your budget allows. Figure out what you have and need, then come up with what kind of parts you want, then figure at least 10k on stuff that you forgot, or for fabracation needs.

My pearl of wisdom would be, give the build alot of thought and get everything laid out on paper first. Make sure part A works with the part B you want, etc, then stick with it and go. Many people, including myself, buy parts and then change mind and sell for a large loss. Think twice buy once. My .02. Have fun. Oh by the way DSE stuff =

id say anywhere from 5 to 10 grand to get all the parts needed.
good used parts will save ya some dough aswell.

Check out my thread (link below). I started with basically the same thing, a rolling shell with no sheetmetal on the front and no interior at all!! I went a little overboard on some things like TKO 600 5 speed, big wheels, and some other goodies I didn't have to had but I went a head an did.

I think all the little stuff new could easily go for 10K. But, you can find a lot of this stuff used from people like myself or Stuart Adams when we buy the wrong stuff or change our minds. Just depends on how much time you send looking.
YearOne has lots of Camaro parts (east coast) and Classic Industries (west coast) I find a lot of the prices are close, but the shipping really adds up, so I try and buy close.
I started my 69 the exact opposite and bought a complete running car, so I would have to guy all the little parts. This was a very conscious decsion because I was worried about finding all those parts. Now that I am into the build, I find I will be using almost nothing of the original car. All those extra pieces are just sitting around. But, before anybody asks, they are not for sale until the car is done. Then I will have lots of parts for sale cheap.
