Tires
I am often baffled at the tire choices some people make, and I wonder if it is just lack of experience.
If you are making anywhere near 500 hp /500 lb. ft. at the wheels there is no ultra -perfomance (utg 220) summer tire that is going to contain that power, and you will never get a decent launch (i.e 0-60 1/4 mile time) no matter how wide they are.
You need to go straight to the r-compound tires: think nitto nt-01, toyo r888, or Yokohama Advan A048.
At a minimum the Dunlop Direzza star spec, Brigestone re-11 of yokohama Ad08 (new).
I had the bf goodrich g-force kd 275/40 18's and with only 445/lb ft. at the wheels, hopeless traction. Look at the super snake in this months motor trend. It is making a bona fide 635hp at the wheels and they put 285/35/20's pirelli p zeros on it. It is slower than a stock gt-500!!
Get the stickiest rubber you can afford. worth more than 100 extra hp!!!
