LS1 Swap fuel pressure dropping????

just got the ls1 in my Camaro but I am having fuel pressure problems.i put a fuel pressure gauge on the car and when the fuel pump is cycled the pressure goes to 40lb but when the pump shuts off the pressure drops to 0lbs instantly.i can cycle the key 2-3 times and the car will start but been pulling my hair trying to figure out what the problem is.
I have a tanks inc tank with intank pump.it has a corvette filter that sets fuel pressure.return also comes off the filter.from the filter it goes straight to the rails.any ideas are greatly appreciated thanks jeff

Lots of people are having issues. I got rid of my tank and I'm going Vaporworx. See the link below.

Did you mount the gauge to the fuel rail test port?

I have the same setup, although I'm switching to Vaporworx this week. My gauge, mounted to the test port, shows pressure after the car is turned off. It slowly bleeds off but its not instantaneous. Did you check all connections for fuel leaks?

If you are not leaking from what you can see and you are not flooding your engine (injector leak) it has to be in the pump. There should be a one way check valve to keep pressure up. These aftermarket tank pumps don't seem to be holding up.

Aeromotive makes a high flow check valve you could add.

Vaporworx is the only way to go.

I've used Tanks Inc in a few LS builds and they are all still running perfectly.

Granted only running up to about 650 HP though:headspin:

The setup is fine but does have a few limitations that are not advertised by the manufacturer.

The internal baffling is designed solely to control fuel slosh/starvation with the fuel level over a 1/3 full. Anything below you run the risk of stalling the engine during hard cornering and acceleration. My car has stalled/hesitated during both conditions with roughly a 1/4 tank left.

I'm hoping the Vaporworx/Rick's tank setup takes care of the issues I experienced.

I hope you were forthcoming with the buyer about the issues. You sure did get defensive when another member on PT posted in your for sale ad about people having issues with it. I see the post was removed.

I'm returning my tank directly to Aeromotive.

Jeff,

Any luck getting it figured out?

So far in my experience, it does. Below a 1/4 tank and no issues on the track. I'm pretty sure Carl ran it down to a teacup of fuel with no starvation as well.
