LSA with speedtech subframe
I know there has been some discussion about having to notch subframes to accomodate accessory drives on the LSA. Has there been any definitive solutions to avoiding the notching and still retaining those accessories? Specifically related to Speetech subframe if possible...thanks.

Not with the stock lsa compressor. You may be able to fit a SD7B10 compressor but that would also depend on the motor mounts you use. I think their new subframe is being build to allow for a low mount compressor though.

I gave up on trying to fit it down low on the stock subframe with the holley motor mounts and bought the accessory drive from Concept One.

Concept One is a nice setup but sending the supercharger off to Lingenfelter for the pulley upgrade made it a no go for me. I got my compressor installed down low with a modified VA bracket to clear the mounts. Also needed the VA Sanden compressor with side exit ports instead of rear exit. It was not a Speedtech sub but something similar might work.

Well here is an lsa engine with compressor mounted low in stock subframe

Don did you have to cut the sub frame to install it with your mount? Which accessory drive did you use with it?

The corvette drive will interchange with the LSA drive system. We did that to bring the alternator up.

You can not fit the LSA ac compressor with out notching the frame.

The Stock Gm compressor is designed for a COnstant pressure system and really should not used in a Cycling system ( Vintage Air ). You can have the GM compressor converted but I don't know anybody who has had one survive or not leak its guts out.
We use the compact AC compressor in the stock location. But we also adapted the Corvette bracket system to the LSA drive system to move the alternator up and away from the rack n pinion. It actually was pretty easy. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...28-2013019.jpg |
