Pics of Hydratech Master Cylinders anyone?

We've been using "another brand" of power brake systems with billet master cylinders and electric pumps due to their compact size and when they work they work great but the last couple we've had issues with and the manufacturer has been painfully slow to do anything about it so I'm looking at alternatives.

The current project has tons of space under the hood (70 Chevelle) so I'm looking at a Hydratech system and figured I would ask for pics of "Full Show Prep" setups they offer. They seem pretty active on the forum so I'm hoping to get some great pics!

This was not a "show" unit (though he does those) but a custom unit that Paul did for me, using a Viper master. Got it real short, which helped with exhaust clearance. I wasn't looking for a lot of "bling". Don't have a better pic up close, but you get the idea.

Absolutely gorgeous engine bay! But I definately need something with more bling- especially for this client.

This is what we have been using... (just imagine it not wrapped in green tape) (Pic from a retrofit job...don't blame me for ugly brake line routing... I only re-did the lines from the master to the body)

So it is a good looking peice but just too much drama.

Get hold of Paul, he can do bling.

Photography never seems to do them justice - a new SLR camera may be in order.

For those that need an even higher level of preparation

Here are images of some even further upscale SPECIAL ORDER units we can do, featuring chroming of the billet plates and custom color codes:

Here is one we did for American Auto Wire a few years ago:

Systems with base / clear metal flake paint codes are VERY challenging, such as this one with the Mazda Electric Blue:

Here is one we did in GM Flame Red with chroming of the plates and accumulator slip cover:

Everyone has always been very pleased with one of our "standard production" show prepared models in black, suggesting these as the one that takes care of business for the customers that want a really nice show prepared brake assist unit. Every sponsored SEMA show system produced over the years has tickled everybody in the black as an idea of how nice they are. When something is so nice that even fingerprints are a problem, you know you have hit the mark.

The super special models shown above in silver / blue / red / extra chroming options are WAY more involved (and therefore cost more and take considerably longer to produce). They are such a PITA to produce that I swear I'm never going to do another one everytime we get into the next one (!). Optional chroming of the billet plates isn't that bad, with Advance Plating taking good care of us, typically adding about a $100 to an order upon request...

Wow Paul.....thank God I didn't see those sooner

Beautiful.... I'll give you a call on Monday Paul. I'll be looking for a master cylinder as well so dig through your notes and see if you've come across something that goes along with the bling theme.

I think the Gloss black or silver body with the polished accumulator cover will work well. Engine bay is all silver and will have polished intercooler tubing, natural finish Hogan intake with polished accents.

Also since 90% of what I deal with is 65-68 Mustangs do you have any pics of one of your system installed on one?

Hydratech® 09-10-2012 04:32 PM

Here are a few of the 1st gen Mustang system #3661 installed with the Wilwood 260-8556P master cylinder:

The 2nd gen Mustang systems are viewable here:

We carry a few different typical master cylinders - the usual chromed C3 Vette MC's, the chromed flat type style Vette MC's, and the CPP MCPV-1 design (that has the built in proportioning). You can see these on our home page installed into the Custom Shop Camaro and the CPP Nova builds:

www.hydratechbraking.com

We do not carry the new design Wilwood MC's, though configure for them daily (being essentially an early C3 Corvette MC design with a different look). If you want a really high end master cylinder, you need to look at the SSBC designs:

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SSB-A0469-5/

This one below has the built in proportioning valve function also, with the brake line connections tucked way back of the bottom of the MC:

If you have your eye on any particular MC design, we can likely configure for it.

Give Jim a call to discuss: http://www.hydratechbraking.com/contact.html
