I like what they did with ^^^that one there, but not of fan of the wide body kits in general, I think they went "too wide". just my opinion.

I'm not normally a fan of wide body kits, but the 911 is an exception. They just look right with a wide kit and wide tires.

Singer took years to get the whole thing right...

But man....did they ever get it right. I think the Singer 911s are the pinnacle of what a restomod can be, regardless of platform or genre.

I totally agree.

What's interesting to me is they spend a good deal of that half a mil+ price on making newer donor cars look older, where as the PT/restomodders make older cars look more modern.

x3. Singer perfects every part of the 911, not just cosmetics. All the mechanicals are just as refined.

Oh I know. :)

When I watched this vid 4 years ago with Chris Harris going over minute details with the head guy in the Singer shop, I was floored when he said at the 17 min mark that the wiring harness was $30K.

Maybe since 4+ years have passed they have found a way to save thousands on the wiring...maybe not. :)

Not too phat, but cool that the Miami PD was using this one in the 80's (reportedly just for show; confiscated from a drug dealer).

That can't be true...there are no drug dealers in Miami.

http://canepa.com/canepa-959/ General info on the 959 upgrade program.

Lots of pics of the great pics of the mods and finished car.

http://canepa.com/1988-porsche-959-canepa-gen-iii/

I like a guy who spent years developing a program to legalize and also heavily modify a super rare almost unobtanium car like a 959.

He's probably hung in effigy numerous times by Porshuh' purist snowflakes.

:P

This one started off as a red car. PT syle touches now imho. :)

How the "F" did we get to Singer talk? Right next to a first or second gen "restomod", there-in lies the 911. I'm in love (not like) with the Singer machines and "may" do a early 911 resto-mod for my next build.

My skinny-fatty as she sits now: (what a great car, just can't get enough driving in).....

Nothing like a phat bottom 911. If I ever make real money I'm taking my baby to Singer and convincing them to do a 993.

The wing on that orange 935 looks all the business but those other two cobbled together rear wings look like a Civic owner's wet dream...

I wondered about some of the funky looking wings I've seen at the track. Guess they work.

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/f...rk10608006.jpg

Ketzer 04-18-2017 07:27 AM

I'm absolutely certain they work, those guys at the track put function above everything... they just look a little odd with the heavily contoured base and the flat sheet tops. I hate that I'm so jaded by the crap I see on the street...
