Odd request, wanting to buy front bench seat.

Good morning all, This is going to sound odd to most everyone here but I am looking for a front bench seat with arm rest for my 69 Firebird, I assume Camaro and Firebird are the same except for the covering. It must be a 69 front bench, 67/78 are different. I know, no one wants one of these but I would like to install one in my car. Looking for a complete seat assembly with good usable foam and no damage/rust in the springs and frame, a real nice core preferably. Thank You. I am in Michigan.

I honestly had no idea they ever did bench seats in Camaro/Firebirds. Would be cool to have, even if only because it's unique.

The bench seat was the standard seat in first generation Firebird's and Camaro's, bucket seats were the preferred choice. It is not a rare option just not popular back then or now.

*Update*. Well I made the trip to pick up the bench seat, it is the real deal, a 69 Firebird bench seat in deluxe (only way they came). I drove 1,233 mile's on Saturday to fetch it. Left Friday night at midnight, picked it up at the sellers house at 10:00am, spent 15 minutes talking about it then turned right around and headed back, arrived home just after 7:00pm Saturday night. Sunday after church I stripped it completely down to springs and fasteners, will sandblast anything steel and epoxy seal, re-plate all fasteners and sew up my own vinyl/confortweave covers using the originals as templates/pattern's. In 69 the Firebird bench was only available in black or parchment (pearl white), I am going dark blue so I need to make my own covers. It will be a really neat feature to install in the car. Thanks again to Jimmy for putting me in touch with the seller, very much appreciated Jimmy, very much so.

Congrats on the find and that's why this site is the best. Please post pics of the seat once it's finished so we can see it.

I will do so, I ordered sample material today so it won't be long. I expect by mid spring to be assembling.

Hey Tim,

Back when I worked at TMI Products we did one of these seats. They have the patterns for them! I'd give them a call, you might save yourself a ton of headaches instead of making it yourself. They can also take your material and make the cover for you. Talk to Korin over there at x123, she's amazing with these kind of special projects.

I don't think you'll find any info on the bench cover on the site, but give Korin a call and she can get you the info. 1-888-460-0640.

I actually have a friend of mine who's doing a pro-touring themed 69 Camaro convertible with a bench seat. He ordered the Sport style seat covers from your old buddies at TMI, and I have the seat and the covers/foams at a friend's getting the base covers and cushion modified to fit the bench base (backs are same as buckets). He's got the foam all done and looking nice, now just got to do the cover modification. He bought extra material, so it'll all look pretty slick and match when it's done.
