I agree. But the remote setup is a lot more work lol.

Patience

Long builds have a disadvantage of too much time to change your mind; new parts hit the market, new ideas hit your brain, etc. :secret:

I'm not even done but there are things I'd do differently now. Wish I would have considered a 19" rear wheel/tire combo out back, just for a little more tire height and to fill the fenderwells better. There are billet intakes now that would allow the intercooler to be located in the intake and top that's low enough to clear my stock SS hood. I like the Texas Speed intake I have and the intercooler I chose will work great, but it was a lot harder to fit in the car and to plumb the additional cold side piping.

For the most part I wouldn't make any radical changes to this build, as this one has been in my head for 50 years. Just picking the right color and getting my car back from Painter Jim are my next goals.

Jody,
I agree, the length of time the cars are apart, and new products cause me to rethink sometimes. I have to stop, and regroup, and think through the process. I've already changed engine and transmission from the original start of the build.I am trying to stay on track at this point, and move forward as quickly as I can.

I'm on this color for now. I carried a small paint chip of the other Porsche brown and looked at it in all kinds of light. Looks great in most, but not all lights. Started to think about dark greys and then came back to this Porsche Anthracite brown metallic. Looks grey in some lights, but has a brown tinge in many lights. Best of both worlds for now.

Jim did a spray out of the Porsche color above and it looks great. The ONLY thing is it's not the brown I had pictured in my head for 50 years. Jim may come up with something I like better, I sent him my rendering for an idea. If not the car will look fantastic in the Anthracite brown.

Here's the latest brown I found, but it's a made up color I believe. There's a paint code but it indicates that it's not real.

Determined to use a factory color or open to tweaking one a little?

It seems like you know exactly what you want when you see it… and you just haven’t yet… very very smart to get a generous sized spray out and see it in different light and times of day.
