Wait --- pictures are deceiving! And can be photo chopped.... and people can spin in turn 7 and with a full spin -- and a NASCAR winners circle 1st gear full on smoke show.... that was all the further I was behind. :disgusted: :D

Or was that the time I destroyed both front tars on corner entry. Actually - I never entered the corner... I approached the corner at mach IV.... picked two gears and got hard in 'em - and there was nuttin but smokey tars being turned into landfill liners. Seems when I complained about rear end early lockup / wheel hop -- due to changing out the Wilwood recalled 7/8ths master for a new 1" master - which required a more aggressive brake pad switch as well.... the bias got biased a little too much and I went from wheel hopping OH CRAP to NEAR ZERO REAR BRAKES when I needed 18 wheel braking.... oh yeah that went south real fast. A simple set of new tars in the front and a re-biasing of the biased bias.... and it was all mo betta. I've seen death... it don't scare me now! |
Haha! What a great weekend! It went from Greg helping and giving pointers on Saturday to "F that orange pos, he aint gettin around me!" come Sunday. A lot of fun between two friends.
Thanks for putting me in the passenger seat on Sunday, that car...when it has fuel, gets around the track pretty dang good! It's too bad Dave never got on track..... |

I haven't had that much fun in a very long time -- we all had fun at my little May shindig at Thunderhill -- but this was different! This was all out war! OMG I drove so hard to keep him behind me -- and he drove so hard trying to "get me". What a hoot! Personally --- I'm thrilled I had to work that hard!! AO went from a mediocre handler to a pretty dang good car.... it took a lot of work on Rob's part - and expense -- but it paid off in spades. Too bad it's not that easy to buy talent.... LOL OMG we had fun! That's what this is all about.... without the fun part - none of us would do any of it. |

Thanks for helping salvage what was left of my back. I'm sorry I cut our last session short with my bonehead fuel calculations. I'm stoked the ride was a good time. Quote:
I'm glad to see Dave picked himself up what looks to be a nice track rat. I am sure after he gets used to it he will add to the mix. His less weight, more tire, more hp more brake combo will make him hard to beat. It's pretty fun though having to work hard to keep up or pass; I kinda like it. I will post some details on the list of mods tomorrow for anyone looking to build some low budget fun. Next week can't come soon enough. |

Well it's pretty apparent why the Mustang is getting sliced up.:peepwall:

Glad you all had FUN! I'll try to make it out again next year :)
 |
It was a fun weekend.
I would have liked to seen Rob & Greg run together at the end of the day, but Greg's tires were flat spotted. I think Randy told me you both ran 1:55's, which was about a 4 second gain for the orange crate if memory serves me correctly. |

Have fun at T-Hill, looking forward to see how this weeks changes work on the car. |
It was nice to see the hard work and money pay off for Rob. Wish I could've stayed Sunday and ran another day with ya'all.
I will get called up from the minors soon enough..... :stirthepot: Basher sucks. |

Pictures are deceiving my friend --- that was the ONLY time he was in front of me.... And it's not getting sliced up -- we're starting from scratch -- building a 1970 Mustang that's getting widened 6" |

Great! Don't bring a Corvette. |

I seem to recall, "It's all about having a good time". Now he gets passed and is building a race car by a real crew chief. :lmao:

His tires were toast so he was RobD of his hp advantage. |

A new torque arm and subframe connectors. New Ridetech struts and shocks with Rons valving. All new spring rates. New larger front and rear sway bars. An adjustable panhard bar. Taller ball joints. Working with Ron on this has been a great experience. The positive difference in the car and the ability to tune the balance with a few minor adjustments is amazing. There are a few issues, as there always are when you modify a car, but Ron is addressing those. Unfortunately those issues didn't really let me find out what the car is really capable of. Hopefully next month I can get the car back on track with the suspension locked down and really find some speed. :flag2: |

We gave it all we had! Funny --- at Sonoma we both lapped a GT2 Porsche that won Watkins Glen in it's class.... the car surely has to be way faster than either of our old crates... but this was a classic case of, the car was good - the driver sucked! Rob's car is becoming good - and he's very good.... Bugs always show up when you're asking for maximum effort.... it's frustrating - but was good to see the car performing very well when the alignment held it's settings. I'm finally asking Old Yeller for all she's got - might have to add some Caster or maybe some more camber... Sutton will think about what the right course of action will be there. Compared to the loose bungholio I suffered at Sonoma - the track bar adjustment paid off at Thunderhill..... amazes me to this day what a small amount of adjustment can do to the handling!! I see guys at the track - and know people too - that adjust about 10 things every outing. They'll never know what their car is doing or what adjustment worked, or didn't work. I'd prefer to make a driver adjustment and just work with whatever the car is doing - - and have "waved off" making any adjustments to the car for the last 3 years.... |
I have some new stuff arriving to solve some of the issues from T-Hill
http://<a href="http://s291.photobuc...pslwalubyt.jpg[/IMG] And plans for something else to add some speed. http://<a href="http://s291.photobuc...ps0ypbbqwm.png[/IMG] |
Let me know when and where, I'm almost ready for another road trip!
You know that front end will change the entire "tune". Stiffer springs in those boxes? :flag2: |

Be ready in Nov for Sonoma and Laguna Seca. Bring a car. :buttkick: You never know what's Next on the list. Just remember even a cheap track car wants to spend your $$:shakehead: http://<a href="http://s291.photobuc...psw0jtpn9s.png[/IMG] |

Funny thing, when I looked at that wing earlier I thought the truss system was just a fancy display and not part of the mounting....:sieg: |

Wing flex...
I had to put a plate inside the back of the car Originally when you pulled it would flex the whole back section of the body Must be that Russian Steel they used..... the bottom is actually bolted to a rear trans mount... tested to 170mph only so far Bob |
That's wicked, Bob.

Fe Torino
I really need to make it out
to run and hang out with everyone Bob |
I’m thinking to be competitive in AI you made need to upgrade just about everything under the car....:peepwall:
Just sayin |

And you forgot about upgrading things on the car also. //http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...psbaldjyam.jpg |

:bigun2: :flag2: I’d say your driving is a lot better than most and only getting better. Come to think of it, maybe ya’ll should plan a winter DirtFish trip. :drive: |

I had a little setback that has kept me from getting back on track but I’m pretty sure that is behind me now. :drowninga:
So this week I unpacked another Aero upgrade to add to AO. http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...psbn3xajxm.jpg |
