garage built
Although I haven't posted on here much, I do enjoy looking at everyone's projects. Here is mine in the making and it will be 100% garage built......in my own garage.

I do it all at home so I can do more with less cash outlay

I did the metal work and body work myself and a lot of detail work. I had the paint and most of the reasembly done at a shop.. I no longer had time to do it becuase of my work schedule. Doing it yourself is def the way to go!
|
This thread sure has cooled off !! What's happened ?

1971 duster. will be completed all in this garage when the finances allow.

100% single car garage built- " I still hurt" There should be a thread called injuries and scar stories during garage builds. I have one or two that will make the toughest man fall to his knees.

Did everything but the paint. That's why it's taken me 7 years so far.
|
Doing everything in my garage. I'll likely get someone else to do the paint though as I'm leaning towards ghost flames. I've been working on it hard for about a year now, but slowly for the past 3.

This is my favorite of all the cars I've built because it is almost completely built from scratch in my garage. The only thing that is original Mustang is the roof, and its all been done for about 6K.

This is a cool thread!
I am building my truck in my garage and i am doing everything from building the frame to paint and body. The only thing i have no experience in is the upholstery so i will have to have someone do that. Anyways here is some pics Josh http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...rametable3.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...dmotorpic3.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...ntruckpic3.jpg |

Ive been working on my '69 Chevelle in my apartment 1 car garage, while I have had one that is... I started workign on it outside. I'm 23, just out of college, and haven't had the money for a house yet. May look into renting a house in the summer.
Working in an apartment has been challenging. Im sure most of what I do is not allowed :unibrow: I have an air compressor (plus several air tools and paint gun), 110v 90amp gassless MIG welder, and a lot of shelves, in a 10ft x 24ft garage. The air compressor is small, but loud... and hard to manage the noise of the compressor and cutoff wheel, or a grinder for that matter. I get a lot of people stop and complement the car while I work (with the garage door open as usual). I've done everything from the engine to the bodywork (which is not done). I built the interior, rewired the entire car, and done engine work. http://www.icixsound.com/vb/icixnati...es/4349_50.jpg http://www.icixsound.com/vb/icixnati...es/4349_55.jpg http://www.icixsound.com/vb/icixnati...es/4349_59.jpg |

We built these in the garage..

Mine was garage built by me with a little help at times. Bodywork & paint, some fab work was outside my skill set! I had my painted hood in the master bedroom other parts in the spare bedroom etc. As the planning & partsprogressed the garage was a cluttered mess. Right before giving the car to the painter I had NOS quarters, tail, fenders, hood, header, valence, grill pieces & more where ever they could go! My woman was really cool about it. Peter |
now this is a sexy car:bow: :lateral:

Wow! I love this thread...
I have this picture hanging on the fridge of the Buick's build c. 2002: http://whitetrashdesign.ca/images/buick/buildlowres.jpg My brother & his Malibu, Dad's Monte Carlo LS and my MCSS are in the background. Here it is now (paint and bodywork in April 2006): http://whitetrashdesign.ca/images/bu.../pic%20004.jpg :hail: It is only with the help of family and real friends do things like this materialize. |
nice car you got there i have always like that body style regals are those some type of stock wheel off a newer car
|
I have built mine at home except for a couple of things that I cant do like upholstery and I also farmed out the stereo due to the upholstery working with another shop to make custom panels and speaker enclosures then having "the interior shop"(that's their actual name) cover all the panels, and the paintwas farmed out too.
