'70 is "the" year, but there were very few '71 made, so they are more rare and thus more $$$

I appreciate the feedback. I will know more about an offer at the end of the week. Whoever owns the car, well the car is worth more than his trailer that he lives in. I find deals like this all the time, seems like there is less than 1% chance of them going through. we will see though! It sure is a nice looking car though.

Less than 10 miles from my house is a 70 challenger 440 car, 4 speed. and black interior. All original w/ engine and trans. Guy wants 20K. hasn't been tagged since 80' Little pricy for this car though! It needs floors, and RH lower quarter. Small baseball size dent in roof. I haven't seen the car in year or so.

So what happened with the car..... I'm still in the market!!!

Talked with my grandpa this afternoon. Found out some good info. 440 car with 4 speed. I wish I had my digital camera that on me that day. This car is a nice solid project car, but I am mainly interested in restoring the car and selling it to make a profit to go back in my camaro or buy it and resell it.

I don't see myself having to put much into the car other than time. The car will need a minimal amount of bodywork, paint job. I would do an off frame restoration so I would have the car baking soda blasted to start and detail the undercarriage. I am going to visit a friend tommorow to see if the car is worth his asking price.

I love that year. I saw a green AAR back in '85 that was mint. I was looking for my first car and my borther and I found it along with some other mopars going up for a personal property auction. My brother said I couldn't afford that car so we left before the auction started. I think it went for around 6K from what I wast told. Makes me cry now. I didn't have that kind of cash at 15 anyway.

A factory 4 speed 70 Cuda that is fixable should be a no brainer at 10 grand. See if it still has the option tag on the drivers side inner fender. If you get us that we can tell you what it is. I watched a seller at auction yesterday turn down 700K for his 71 Hemi Cuda. I have a offer on my old 70 Hemi Cuda that a friend has and he won't take the 300K offer.

I am 5 hours away from the car. I am getting the tag info. off of the car tommorow. I remember seeing the tag inside the engine bay you are talking about Charley. I am thinking of leaving out tues. morning and heading up there to get all the info off the engine. I know the car does not have the shaker style hood, it is the hood with the 2 louvers. Which means it is probabaly not a Hemi.

In 70 there were "Cudas" and "Barracudas" Any "Cuda" is good....does not need to be a Hemi....Of coarse they feel and drive like crap but they look cool. :D

Well found out a little more info. on the car. It was built in the 9 month of 1969-thats what he got off the door. I know the car is not a 69, because the body styles are not even close in style. I am 99.9% sure the car is a 70. The car is believed not to be a "Cuda" but a "Barracuda" as it says this on the rear tail panel. I have the Vin, but my grampa didn't get the right numbers off of the trim tag under the hood. I will just have to wait till I make another trip up there to get pictures, and get the info. off the trim tag.

Give me the vin and I can find out what engine it had...
