Thought I'd share a buddies homemade gow job. Hes got a barn he works out of now but this thing was built at his old house under the back deck. 250ci Chevy 6 with a manual shifted between the legs, hand brake, no seat belt and cruises at 85mph with no issues. It's cool as hell to see blasting down the highway!

I love it. Love the bee tail on it!

Everything with the exception to the paint job was done in my small home garage. 80mm Turbo 6.0 LQ4, ls1 intake, 80 lb injectors, built 4l80 tripple disc Billet converter, Crown Vic front clip, coilovers, 9" big fuel system.....the list goes on and on.

Garage built... even the paint! It's not 100% done but I've got about 500 miles on it so far.

These last 2 trucks are just too cool. Nice work guys. Envious of you.

Love this thread, now we need a thread for poor people's builds, lol.
I built this camaro by myself in my garage a few years ago, paint included. http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/b...o/DSCN1131.jpg http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/b...o/DSCN0997.jpg http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/b...o/DSCN1020.jpg http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/b...o/DSCN1026.jpg |
Great job, guys!

Here are a few projects I have punched out of my garage, never any "full restorations" Just "drivers" I would buy them cheap, do some repairs/paint, to get them running, make them presentable and then sell them.
I did a 63 Chevy pickup, it was a salvage title truck bought at a police auction for $150. No engine or trans, just a roller. I put a new engine in a K-5 Blazer for a guy and he gave me his "core" I freshened that up and found a Turbo 400 at a junk yard, the rest of the parts came from Ebay and LMC. before After it came out of paint, built the bezel from aluminum diamond plate with phantom guages Built this blown small block before I even had a car to put it in. Bought the car after the engine was built. It was a 62 Nova I picked up off of ebay. Had a built Turbo 400 with 3000 rpm stall converter, pretty mean little set up. http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/j...pstmp85zsn.jpg http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/j...psxtuqw6pn.jpg Top row of pictures is a 69 Ford pickup 4x4, 300 6 cylinder 4:56 gears, factory lockers front and rear F-100 2nd row of pics is a 57 Ford pickup, I bought it for $300, the guy rebuilt the engine and powder coated the frame, replaced brake lines and a few other misc items and lost interest. He had to sell it to get it out of the yard it was in before it got scrapped, I wasn't really interested in the truck, but for the money I couldn't pass, just put it together, painted it and sold it. When I got it cab, bed, and fenders were all separated from truck, wiring harness was in a five gallon bucket, it was a text book basket case! 3rd row down is 68 Camaro, it was primer pink with purple pin striping when I got it, it had a small block 400 Turbo 400 trans, someone had welded the sub-frames together with a connector link. I got the car running, new carb, fuel pump, a few other small little repairs, replaced interior with new panels, new carpet, headliner, painted viper red with white stripes on hood and deck lid. My brother in law still has that car. Here is the fleet I had at the home garage circa about 2002. I have always wanted to tackle a frame up on my own, but I haven't found the car I want to do yet, I am thinking my next "keeper" car is going to be a 66 or 67 Chevelle if I can find one that is worth rebuilding, I think I will always have to "farm out" trim work and finish interior work, because I just don't have the skill set required for that type of work. My 64 Vette, I bought it with 900 miles on frame off restoration, my 57' I have done all the mechanical work on and the paint and body work was done at a shop. Nice looking rides everyone, you guys do some amazing work, very cool looking at everyone's rides and projects in the works. I love old school muscle cars! Keep on Keeping on! |

That really is a great color choice for that car. Glad to see it in color.

Not at my home, but at my airport hangar. Disassembly, Chasis, body work, engine, assembly. The only things that got done out side of my hangar- rented spray booth, exhaust and upholstery. Oh Ya, had it dyno'd at Westech. Check out my build thread

Very nice you two. Glad to see this thread still getting replies. I'm also glad to see the SS hood being used on your car, Mike.
