The close ratio T56 Magnum's gear ratio are spot on for the 355 ci with 3:50-3:73 gearing. 1st gear is actually usable. I have always felt the Camaro platform was design for a manual trans first, the auto option more for convenience. |
We've got some Damn nice cars on the "Home-boys" thread, lets keep posting them, tell your friends, Put up the pic's, don't let this thread die, keep it at the top so others can see-um,,RJ

Well, i finally ended starting up my 'Vert project!!! I'm just finishing a few electrical connection and i need to put my seat in and i'm ready for the first drive down the driveway!!! I planned on taking it out last Friday but i now aim for Friday of this week.
http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...h_DSCF2535.jpg Sorry its so short, we did not have any battery left and i ran it just to show the wife as the rad ad no water and my gauges we're not plugged in yet but you get the idea...MAN ITS LOUD!!!! I LOVE IT!!!! At the exhaust... http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...F2334-Copy.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...9/DSCF2335.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...9/DSCF2339.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...9/DSCF2400.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...9/DSCF2522.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...9/DSCF2329.jpg 5 years in the making, 2 back surgeries in the middle of the build, redid the WHOLE exterior of the house in the mix as well as some of the interior and not the least my third little Princess (getting ready for a drive) got here in the project's timing as well...Sometimes i have a hard time beleiving i hung in there and finished it.....But i did!!!! Lead. |
Oh, and here is the other project i just got a few weeks ago (with my Old Pro Touring stuff (actually still bran new never ran but still been at friends house for few years now lol!!!) (Wheels, 6.0L and T56, C6 Z-06 Brake set up and a lot more misc parts) He did put a lot in it, body is almost 100% new, suspension is awesome, but i have the body for sale locally, i wanted to get my parts back to re-PT my convertible bu i dont know, i like it how it is...I'll see. This is such a nice and easy project i'm starting to like it more and more every time i go in the garage i see it finished so i don't know...I have a guy that showed serious intrerest in the 'vert so who knows. I just dont know if i'm ready to get into another build right away tough....The only motivation would be i would have a pretty good budget from the sale to fund the Hard top right away and no waiting...Could be fun.
We'll see!!! Here are some pics; http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...0878f6c_20.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...9/DSCF2311.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...9/DSCF2220.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...9/DSCF2225.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...9/DSCF2301.jpg Its a nice base to start off of. Its built off a mix of WD and Morrison but was done at a local Nascar shop. Why sad? its still there but i'm selling the whole car, i'M just keeping my brakes, t56, 6.0L and wheel tires at this point.... If i sell the vert, i might build this one, but now i have buyers for both of them so i might change the whole thing. I have a buddy that has an ultra sano 62 Bubbletop 409 4speed that would be nice with the 3 kids or i looked at some 911, my wife likes em too. We'll see.
Lead. ....Money on the house is not out of the question either...We grow up don't we!!! |
lead, that vert is looking good! im more the drag race kinda guy myself so i really dig that look, although the stance on the hardtop is absolutely killer!
|

Do you have any more pictures of your beautiful 68? love the hockey stick stripes. In one picture you show an orange dash and another a black dash. Which way did you go? |
I went with a black dash, thanks for the complements, this was a good shake down year and most of the bugs are out of the motor and suspension
here's the car again at Marina http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/IMG_7469.jpg here's Plain Jane at RTTC2 http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/x...2/IMG_6168.jpg Plain Jane Hanging with Bad Penny http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/x...2/IMG_6194.jpg as seen in camaro performers http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/x...performers.jpg |
Rod – Seeing all the pictures really puts your car in better perspective. That’s an amazing transformation! And all done in 14 months in your garage. Nice laundry list of suspension too! ;)

Bram's 68 pro-touring Camaro build in the Netherlands
This is mine, took me 7 years.
I did the stripping down of the paint (and lots of bondo)and after paint the assembly of all parts. Bodywork done by 3 different "guys". Thats why it took so long. I love the result. Still many wishes (LS1 or LS2, custom door panels, etc.) Here's the full story, in Dutch...........http://www.amerikaanseautopagina.com...ic.php?t=59845 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...sCamaro3-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...o/IMG_0151.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...o/795dd0a8.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...-3-2007086.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...IMG_2795-1.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...o/IMG_2903.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...o/DSC_0078.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...o/DSC_0034.jpg |
AWESOME! Nice job! When I saw the first pic I was like --- man that thing sits a bit high - but well - what the heck he's in the Netherlands... Then I got to the end and dropped my jaw!
7 years went by in a hurray -- and you will enjoy every minute now! |

Garage Build
Mine is a garage build, I need to post some updates but things are crazy at work right now.
http://www.daemoncustomauto.com/front%20clip.jpg http://www.daemoncustomauto.com/fron...P1800%20GT.jpg Build thread is here: https://lateral-g.net/forums/showthread.php4?t=34997 I don't get a lot of feedback though so I'm either making a lot of mistakes or my car doesn't fit with the community. Either way I love seeing the builds here and get a lot of great ideas from what others are posting. Love this place! :D |

For the most part mine is garage built, save for the paint/body and a couple other items.Next time it will be entirely garage built from ground up. It's been a learning curve over the last 8 years or so. If I could do it over again I'd do things way different but hey, you live and learn. It's not pro-touring, back when I started it I was young and wanted to go fast in a straight line. However, I do plan on driving it all the time when it is "finished."
