The most famous Corvette body style to date (maybe one of the most famous designs of all time). It's great to see someone building a C2 to enjoy. Very nice!

Thanks !!! For The approval,,, I catch some flak about it being a #'s car,, I sold all the suspension, drive train .,A/C to a guy in ST. Louis,,, Then replaced the front end and Quarters,,, It had a small flare on the trailing edge of the openings,, Plus it had been hit on the left front corner yrs. ago.... I will get more updated pictures later,,Just got it back from the Upholstery shop,,, I sold the origainal seats and went with Nissan 350Z seats, and now it has a functional console with drink holders,,,, I 'm running the LS6 intake backwards, pulling air from under right fender ,, Wiper panels are filled & a panel will go over the old wiper motor cavity, hiding the MAf sensor,in the firewall,,Wiper motors were also sold and replaced by a single linear actuator.,8.8" Cobra rear cover was replaced by a beefier Explorer cover, The Driveshaft Shop made the 300 moly axels and driveshaft,, Rear was narrowed to 52" from a factory 62",,,, Rear geometry was assisted by Neil Lea at Rods&Restos, Centre,Al.. ,, Front end is Art Morrison, unit with 13.2 ,Cobra rotors, also grafted to the rear, and C5 front calipers also on the rear.., Stock cluster with Autometer guages, Vintage Air.. ,Air Ride, Thanks for comments !!!! Thanks Scott !!!

Very Nice!!! I LOVE mid-year 'Vettes. When I started my 442 I thought about building one, but decided against it because of insurance problems for a 25 year old. Little did I know that the insurance wouldn't have been a problem by the time I finished the thing! Ah well, maybe next project!
Shiny Side Up!

Looks great, I have had my eye on doing a C-2 also, Now JMO, the exhaust tips need to go, what about running the exhaust up in the factory location,(the tips exit under the bumpers) or just hide them, the Camaro looking tips just don't fit it. remember JMO.
Looks great

They aren't a permanent fixture yet,,, The stock exhaust bezels that come out below the bumper ,aren't big enough for the pipe to pass through, ,plus I'm pushed for space with the compressor mounted under the fuel tank, I wanted to doa C5 exhaust in the center,, But no space....... Open for suggestions ??

While I was selling all the Matching #'s stuff from the factory Air car and making plans{car had been flared} , I decided to go for it on the intake,, I had wanted to do it on my last car , 69 Camaro, but decided it would be to much time,, With the chassis mods and wiper delete now it could be done,, The Louvre panel that the TB attaches hides the MAF behind it , The louvre's are non functional, sealed behind,, Air is pulled from right side cowl,to a K&N filter mounted in the old heater motor area under the fender, It makes a cleaner looking compartment, without all the garbage hanging on the front of engine,,, Just had to be different from a regular LS1 swap,, Motor ,tunnel ,and wheel housings were all raised so it could lay frame,,Ford Cobra IRS 03{52"} was answer to rear, Morrison to front {54"]

Go look at the side mount Headers from Hooker, they are simply awesome. Not cheaper, but period correct.
I under the understanding that they can make them fit a lot of different engines.
Check them out.
They are REALLY neat.

Went to Hookers website, Can't find them for LS1,, They would have to be shop built to make them work, Car sits 3.5" high at ride heigth on center member,,lays frame with air deflated,,,,, Oil pan is C5,, F-body would drag the ground,, Plus engine & trans were raised 1.5" to get it above the morrison crossmember,,, With the C5 pan &rack+pinion to steering clearance was the big issue,,, I had checked Hooker out before, I still can remember frying my leg on a set of hookers ,back in the later 60's,,

That is the down side of sidepipes. I have burned my leg on mine and my girl got a nice kiss from them after a little drive when they were good and hot and she got out in a pair of shorts and forgot about the pipes. We custom made mine so that they dont hang any lower then the frame as my car rides very low also.

I would imagine you would have to modify a set of small block sidepipes to fit the LSX style ports, for a set of sidepipes.but would cool.

Side pipes are out,,I had to modify the C5 headers for them to fit, When you run a C5 oil pan it also limits header issues because of it's width,, f-body pan -sump to low + rach&pinion!! I guess I should have left the stock -pissy suspension under it raised it up and flared it do I could have run sidepipes ?? Yes they could be made to work and i could build them myself, since I built the car at home, Including replacing the front clip and rear quarters to get rid of the flares,, And getting it to lay frame,,Had to have something to crush my Beer cans!!!!

Beautifull car! I love a car that looks incredibly streamlined and fast before it even moves! The black seals the deal!
I agree that the exhaust tips don't meld well with the rest of the car. And while I'm a sidepipe guy myself I think they'd detract from the smooth, sleek, sophisticated look it has now. (not to mention dates getting burned ruining a potentially great evening!)The square tips are the only part on the car that isn't curved perhaps thats why they catch the eye as not looking correct. Maybe two tips on each side that mimic the taillight housings that exit through the valance set in more toward the center like the photochop with the square tips. Or hide the exhaust outlets under the car so they aren't seen at all?

Beautiful car! I agree the tips are a little distracting and the side pipes don't do it either...I would dump the tail pipes behind the tail panel (like a first gen camaro) for the cleanest look possible.
