My brother Andy and I were published in the new issue of Popular Hot Rodding in a small article. We would greatly appreciate it if we could get any of you guys who support the younger crowd in the Pro-Touring/G-machine scene to please e-mail (
[email protected]) and let them know that you all support the next generation in this hobby.

Congratulations. That is very cool. I have a special appreciation for Young Guns entering the business, hence the name "Prodigy Customs". In fact we have one 21YO, 20 YO, and a 18YO in our shop now. And all terrific Prodigys. If you guys ever decide to go pro, let us know!
And again, congratulations!

I am 20 now, I have been around these forums since I was 14! How many years I have spent on here haha!
I have owned my 69' Camaro since I was 14 as well. Bought it as a rusted out piece and had over 4 years of fun, learning, and great people that helped finish it.

I have probably met only like 2 or 3 guys my age that even own muscle cars, let alone g-machines. I just hate going to car shows with older guys, and get looks, and comments like "his dad probably built that for him", and even at shows that are mostly younger guys with hondas and late model cCamaros, dont seem to show all that much respect.

Is there anyone else that does hardcore fab that is my age? I'm wondering because i cant do paint or engine work for the life of me. I only specialize in welding and cage/suspension design. I kinda tried doing the whole building engines and trans, but never got into it.

Hey, we really could have taken you for a spin.. ;)
Cool cars and emails to me about doing a feature would be preaching to the choir. Both of your cars are cool, built on a budget and that fact that your young and not fussing with Honda's all work in your favor.
I will bring it up again tomorrow. I personally think a two car shoot would be cool.
Nice job on the rides!
Sincerely,
Steven Rupp

I'm 24 and have been turning wrenches since I was 6, on my summer vacations from school, at my grandfathers body shop. What I really love is getting to meet and learning from the old timers. I love hearing about the old days and how they modded their rods. I will carry on their storys and legends to my kids wen that day comes.

Thank you guys for all the comments and interest, I am very happy to see that all of you guys my age are gettin your hands dirty and goin' broke for your cars too. I love it! And by the way Mr. Rupp, I understand the sarcasm, I should have known it was you, oh well, thank you for bringing up my idea anyway, I greatly appreciate it.

Congrats on the Novas, they are beautiful cars and well-deserving of recognition!
I too am a young guy (28, that's young, right? :_paranoid ) and I can guarantee I will never outgrow this hobby. I have always liked the PT style of build but only recently have had the funding to build my own street machine. Restomodded American Muscle rules the streets!
Drive on!

How bout making a 3 nova car shoot, im 19 and own a nova, its not the prettiest, but to me its great, but i believe anything u put blood swet and tears into is great. i try and do all my own work on my car, im not too great at body work yet thats why ts not pretty. i built the engine, and trans tho, and should be overhauling the suspension this summer.
its up to us young guys to keep this hobby going.

I had hopes of having a young guns car but since the project is taking longer than expected, I think I missed the 25yr old cut off as I am now 26. I realy REALY hope it gets done before I hit 27. I did my first t/a when I started my first T/A when I was 16 and finished it when I was 18.

I'm 16, started working in a mechanic shop when I was 14. I submitted the pictures of my '69 Camaro they should be in the members section soon. The shop I work at is not a hot rod shop, we do a lot of production stuff but we still do a lot of restorations and custom cars. My boss used to drag race professionally, he won summer nationals in 1963 and he is by far the most knowledgable man I have met. We've done a couple very high dollar restorations, and last year we built a '64 Chevelle SS convertible that got 6th place in a car show with 250+ cars.
