I can't wait to see this, there's been such a buzz about it for years now! Finally, movie special effect technology has caught up to the point where it won't look cheezy. The cartoon movie was great an all back when I was a kid but pales in comparison to what it really needed to be.
I'm a total transformers geek, I had every single one of the toys when I was a kid...and I mean all of them, including special limited production ones that I had to wait months for. I also had just about every other piece of merch junk that was on the market at the time. Then my mother gave them all to the kid next door and they were destroyed. What a shame.

WOW my kids will like that one , I think I will too!!! I wonder if it will be to scary for my 6 year old ???
Wow! At first I thought..."Lucky Scott has kids to bring to it, and be "forced" to watch with"
But it seems legit! A big cast and a big budget, and may be too much for little kids. I am in!

I am 30 years old and I have to say when I was a kid that was the greatest cartoon. I have Transformers the movie from the Late 80s and still watch it. I even know the ending song when Rodamus Prime beats Galvatron. I know that all sound real kidish but that what I am at heart. I watched that show from begining to way after they canceled it. To me that was the greatest show in the world and then G.I Joe.
Oh won of the cars is a 2nd gen.

Did you ever have the a big white jet? It came all metal and was very expensive at the time. I want to say his name was Jet stream. and no I am not talking about Star Scream. He only came out in about 3-4 eps but he was real cool.

I know exactly the one you are talking about. It was actually a carry over from the Robotech series and they named it Jetfire.
Wanna buy one?

I believe that there is a 74 Camaro in the Movie.
What's the other one?

The whole movie is like a GM commercial. One of the main characters is a beat up yellow 2nd gen camaro that gets reborn as a 5th gen concept Camaro. In the comic books, toys and cartoon he was a VW bug. There is also a Solstice (formerly a Porsche GT race car in the cartoons), a heavily modified GMC Kodiac and Hummer Rescue vehicle. They are all supposedly the good guys.
One of the bad guys in the movie is a Mustang Police car I guess.
Ironically, the Camaro is actually rumored to be a fiberglass body on top of a Mustang chassis built by Steve Saleen.

Im very excited to see this movie. I've been following it on Don Murphy's (the producer) site since they started working on it. All the good leaks of info were there first. Peter Cullen, the voice from the cartoon for optimus prime, will be voicing his as in the movie.
Having read the script, I'd say that this movie will appeal to everyone. It's got some pretty funny parts in it too.

Dude that is the one. I remember just about all of the from Devastator too the Airiobots. The yellow Camaro on the new movie I think is supposed to be BumbleBee. I cant wait to see this movie. I think its time to watch the original movie again.

It's funny you mention "Devastator". He was the huge robot formed by all the 5 Constructicons. One of them,"Bone crusher" (originally the bulldozer) is in the movie in a different form. I think he's one of those new mine demolishing military vehicles called a Buffalo.
I am such a dork.....:goofy:

I hope this lives up to the days of our youth. Believe it or not when I saw the original movie when Iron Hide got killed on the ship going back to earth from Cybertron I had a little tear in my eye.
Ah yes nothing like reliving 18 years ago.

Da---ang I'm gettin freeking old now.
It seems just yesterday I was watching Transformers the movie.
Well something cool. I introduced my nephews to the cartoon movie and they loved it. I can't wait for this to come out.
I feel bad for for all the little dudes who want to draw these newer types of Transformers. I had a much easier time with the old school transformers, much less parts

It'll be no time at all before there are 'tooned versions of the movie transformers in coloring books and so on. Sadly the toys SUCK. Really a step backward for Hasbro. But I digress. There will surely be "masterpiece" ones that are tolorable. (how big of a geek am I?)
/read the movie script last feburary.
//Saw all the designs early.
///knows this movie will be the biggest "thing" this summer.
looks like an awesome movie!
some of the new transformer toys are damn near impossible to change without the instructions. My nephew gave up on one and leaves it in the robot form. :D

I agree, back in my day I had about every transformer there was, and they were all quit easy to change now they are damn near impossible to do. My son has about 10 of the new transformers and they suck to change. I want to take one and break it on the floor.

OK, I might as well tell ya all how much of a Transformers geek I am...
- I remember seeing the older movie in the theater
- I have the movie on DVD
- I have the soundtrack on CD
- I also own the first season on DVD
- I let my 6 year old daughter watch the DVDs and she's now sucked in.
