If they ever again have a west coast tour, I would do it - but the idea of driving 2500 miles to get to the tour (and then back again) is a little much.

Mike, drive the diesel,

Since Racine is basically where I live, I have decided to stay home after Monday's stop. Gonna go back to work and save the vacation days. :(

I will be on the tour until racine. I have spent the past three weeks prepping Paladin. wipers, stereo, tiny paint touch ups etc. This Saturday I am getting it tuned up (new plugs, check the air fuel, make sure the blower is making 10 psi, etc.). I booked my hotels two weeks ago and let me tell you, they are full!! I have to stay in Kenosha because everything in Racine is bookedl! Not much left in Kalamazoo either! Cleveland is no problem. Can't wait.

Hey guys, be sure to stop by the breakfast stop after leaving Kalamazoo, MI. Lane Automotive,
(the company I work for) is hosting one of the breakfast stops. We are about 30 minutes west of Kalamazoo and located only a hundred feet from I-94, so it's not out of your way at all. We are a speed shop with 400+ different manufactures of go-fast-parts and have a nice showroom where you can get some eye candy. We have a '93 Cobra R Mustang in our showroom that was raced for many years (now only run in exhibition events) for you Blue Oval followers. Long story short, I don't want you to blow by us thinking you don't have time. Get out and stretch your legs, eat some pancakes and come in look at some billet aluminum car parts.

Chad.

I don't understand....if everyone is leaving Sunday morning, then what time is everyone arriving from their previous stop? I plan to drive out on Sunday with some friends but I'm curious as to how this works. Are you guys arriving on Saturday night, staying the night and then leaving Sunday morning? Or do you arrive on Sunday Morning early, stay for a few hours and then head out later that morning. I guess this would mean the show is in the early morning hours? What time on Sunday?

Sorry....confused guy here.:goofy:

I might make the tour again this year. Just without the car... My buddy called me last night and needs a passanger. I'm gonna figure out tonight if I can swing it(gotta take care of bills and a puppy first). I think I'll have just as much fun riding as I did last year. It would be fun just to ride and have a camera in my hand at all times. So hopefully everything will work out.

Tony, most of the Power Tour cars will show up in Kalamazoo sometime after lunch, spend the day at the Event, spend the night there, then head out Monday morning for Racine, WI.

Tony, XcYZ is correct. The idea is to stay the night in K-Zoo and head out for Racine in the morning. We are doing the breakfast on Monday morning.

Not to be like a parent but be careful with your cars guys, lots of cars stolen lately, and unfortunately our cars are easy targets. Be safe.

Hey Guys, what do you guys do as far as security for your cars when out on the Power Tour? My dream is to go on Power Tour when my cars done and was wondering if cool old cars are a target for thieves. I was thinking of trying to park my car next to a nicer more expensive car and hope they skip over the "lil 64 dart" next to the hemi cuda:D :D :D All jokes aside, id be worried about leaving my car alone at night in a strange place. Do you guys have alarms?

most of the recommended hotels have 24 hour security, plus there's usually a bunch of the guys bench racing out in the parking lot until 2-3 a.m. anyway.

Chris,

If you are coming into Cleveland early take a look at whats going on Friday:

FRIDAY:

10:00 AM - 12:00 noon

A few members of the Hot Rod Forum calling themselves The “Forum Freaks” who will be in town early are going to the Louis Stokes Veterans Medical Center located on Brecksville Rd & Miller Rd in Cleveland from 10:00-12:00-ish Friday to honor the local vets and have a great time showing off their rides doing it. The VA hospital will have a parking lot reserved and a police escort while on the grounds. There should be a nice group of cars, but get there on time if at all possible. They will make room for more if needed. Local media coverage will also be at this event.

This is a great thing to do for those who have served our country! There is supposed to be a HUGE thank-you card for those of us that will be there, to sign.

4:30 PM - LATE

There is a group of participants and anyone else who wants to go are gathering Friday night at the Ramada Airport South located at 7233 Engle Rd, in Middleburg Heights OH to cruise to the coolest car-guy watering hole in C-Town. The group will leave there NO LATER than 4:30 to caravan to Quaker Steak & Lube in Independence OH.

http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l155/Cyclonerods/lube/QuakerSteak1.jpg

At "The Lube" as we locals call it; you can eat while seated directly underneath several real classic and muscle cars suspended upside down from the CEILING! Every square foot from floor to ceiling of this place is loaded with cool go-fast stuff. There are also motorcycles, and race cars as well as tons of racing memorabilia ... it is a motorhead's sensory overload. If you are into cars/bikes/wings/burgers/beer or all of them this IS the place to go while you are in C-Town!

Jay who is the special events coordinator for the Valley View Quaker Steak is looking forward to having any and all Power Tour vehicles or local rides there Friday the 1st and will have special parking roped off adjacent to the outdoor patio (pictured above). Their patio has it's own full service bar and waitresses and is about 90% covered so even if we get rain you will be able to keep an eye on your cars which will be parked just a few feet from your tables in the front row of the parking lot.

If you don’t make it in time you can meet up with us at anytime that night. The parking lot and the adjacent lots will hold 1000+ cars and it is a nice area as well.

Although I will not be on the tour I will be at the Lube Friday and at the IX Center Saturday working. If anybody has any questions please PM me!!!! Hope to see some :lateral: cars at either event Friday!

I am going to be in Evansville on Wed. June 6th.
Anyone have an idea as to what the agenda is for that day?
Thanks!
Scott

vintageracer
05-30-2007, 09:07 AM
The agenda will be the same as all the other days. Arrive from 12-2pm, look at cars, talk about cars, tell lies about cars, gather all the free stuff from the vendors, then sit around and listen to the evening program to see if you win anything. Some of the venues may have drag racing if available.

Hope this helps!

I have a family commitment. My brother backed out on picking my parents up at the airport on Sunday. He's opted to go up north so I'm stuck with having to do it. They and my aunt and uncle are due back from Italy at 1pm. That pretty much screws my day. I'm pretty pissed right now. Oh well...paybacks are a bitch. I'll get him back for this.
