this is a motor a guy on another site suggested as a combo he has built and believes in. he says he's a NHRA builder. just wanted to get some opinions from you guys.



383 street strip
350 4 bolt +30 block or 2bolt with arp studs
Jegs 197 heads #555-51541
fel pro 1010 head gaskets
Holley 300-36 intake
Holley O-82750 carb
DO NOT USE EDDY MANIFOLD OR CARB!!
Crane #119841 HR cam and lifters
1.5 ratio full roller rockers
pushrods will be hardened for guide plates and length will depend on machining done.
SRP pistons #138096
Scat rods #2-ICR6000
felpro 1010 head gasket
4340 ultra lite forged crank weighs 44# instead of 64. I can get $650+shipping. normally cost 1200/1300 bucks! cost is $425 above the cost of a new cast 64# crank.
1 3/4" into 3" full length header
475 hp at 5500 rpms
512 ftlbs at 4000 rpms

depending on the compression I would say that is possible even on pump gas.
Srp pistons are great and are pricey. so if their in there it wouldnt be a bad deal. should be atleast 10.1 or 11.1 compression.

yeah, it would be 10:1 with forged pistons and 6" forged rods.

I say go for it. Im getting a a 383 with speed pro forged pistons with scat rods and crank. With my Pro top line heads I should make upwords of 450 too 500hp.

How much for that combo your getting.

well, thats all the parts i have to buy and put together. i actually plan on getting the scat forged bottom assembly with 6" rods.

but pretty much with all that and a few other little odds and ends for strength and power, about 4,500.
