Hey everyone. Newbie camaro fan. I'm just curious on this auction what all your opinions are on this car re: the car itself and the price. No Im not looking to buy, just curious as I do plan to get a camaro and build a PT. Can you build a car like this for 50k?
Thanks!

From the photos, it appears to be a quality build. There are lots of high dollar hard parts too. If you had someone else do most of the work, I say you would not come in below $60K. If you did the work yourself, you could come in under the $50K.

If you liked everything but the gay a*s stripes:lol: , you could negotiate a good price and get the stripes removed.

I appreciate all your input. Being a Newb, my point isnt to be a jerk, but viper blue, doesnt your car have 2 stripes:willy:

I was a lil deceptive. I am thinking seriously of purchasing this car. Im just a lil ashamed of admitting that. I have been obsessed for 2 months looking for a 18k-24k camaro to PT and make my own. But I really want a 69. Then I came across this and can get a good deal. I just wish it was a 69 and had a lil more motor.
again, thanks for all your input. I hope to be a welcomed regular on this site!

Welcome to the site.

I think it's a cool car and seems to be a great buy considering what is in it. The fit and finish looks really good - in the pictures. However, I do have to agree with the stripes. The firewall treatment isn't the issue, it's how they continue down the rear past the trunk lid. Of course, it's just my opinion.

YOu counld not have it built for any less than 75-80 at a cheap shop. Lots of high dollar parts and lots of work. You could however do it yourself for less than 50 and save 3.27 on .8ounces less white paint so they dot go past the spoiler. LOL

Looks to be a pretty nice car. Yes the stripes (and grille) imo, are awful. If they just made a few changes it probably would be gone by now. Being in the middle of a project myself and checking all my reciepts, I think you would be hard pressed to build a car like this even doing the work yourself for $50K. If you can buy it now in that price range, I think you would be doing good. Just make a few changes to personalize it. I think you know the changes I'm (we're) talking about. Plus, you could be driving it right now, not waiting for this, that, and the other thing!

Looks like a very good deal to me. You couldn't have one made for that. Welcome to the site and I hope to see you here in the future.

You guys/gals (if any) are awesome. Thanks for the info, and actually Im right with you on wheels/stripes. Im not going to buy it unless I can get him down to about 47k cause I have to ship it to NM. Anyways, thanks and I'll keep ya updated. I just wish it was a 69.

It's a lot of car for the money. Fix a couple items to your taste and you're done.

Is that the same Camaro that was on the Wayne due web site and I think it had a lt1 from the original builder.

Yeah the stripes the way there were done was not the best, and that grill is ugly, but like everyone else says, a little paint work and put a stock grill on it would be a great car. At least the interior isn't orange or anything and seems to be nicely done.

I don't recall seeing the car on the site, but the site is now closed, so no way to verify. That is definitely a Wayne Due Sub-frame though.

Yes very good thing. He made some of the nicest sub frames around!! That is a nice car. Total score at $50,000. I to would change the grill and most likely the stripes. But that is easy.

The chassis on that car is designed for Corvette C4 suspension components, rack and pinion steering, and coil over shocks. It is designed to be a bit stffer than the stock sub-frame. In addition to the handling benefits from the suspension upgrades, it will also accomodate up to 9.5" wheels DUE (pun intended) to the narrowed frame rails. It is a sweet set up. I saw that the car also has the C4 independent rear suspension (IRS) conversion that Wayne offered. This alone is probably worth seven to eight thousand in parts and labor. Not too many people do this for a few reasons. First, the expense and nesessity to do lots of sheet metal mods in the back of the car. Second, the time and money are probably not worth the added handling. Third, IRS set ups are not as strong as straight axle set ups, and are suseptible to breakage under heavy loads.

All of this said, I would buy it in a heart beat if I was not a rag top man. I would love to have the IRS in my build, but compromised on an Air Ride (coil over) set up for some of the aforementioned reasons. BTW, I have the exact Wayne Due sub-frame, and I am very happy with the quality so far. I guess I will know for sure when I get it on the road....
