anyone have any experience with a Dynacorn 69 Camaro convertible

There are lots of little issues that I'm not happy with on my 69 camaro convertible. Is there anything I should know before I start a Dynacorn convertible buildup

Which dealer did you buy it from? Was it purchased recently? If so, did it come with the deck lid and doors fitted to the body?

If you bought one prior to the current version that comes w/ doors and a deck lid you are going to have issues with fitment of panels. The current dynacorn bodies have a new stamping for their tail panel, doors and deck lid. I haven't seen the latest version with its fitted panels in person, so I don't know how it looks. I have a body from CARS in NC that I bought 1 year ago. The goodmark doors will need metal added to them in order to make the gaps even close to FACTORY. The decklid fitment is horrible, needs metal on both sides. I called Dynacorn and requested the measurements of their new pieces for comparison. They numbers were the same so:

The person I spoke with measured samples of their old panels or Dynacorn is working them prior to priming the bodies.


Besides the panels, you will find that the pass side leaf spring pocket isn't far enough forward. You can fix that by hogging out the bolt holes on the leaf spring pocket plate.
The old tail panel on the bodies doesn't quite line up with the inner bumper structure, the taillamp holes are off a bit and most trim screw holes will need to be driled. There isn't a mounting plate for the top pump so you will need to fabricate one.
You may also have issues with things that aren't in the design but due to a mistake the assembler made. The people building mine had no QA man, so I got one that has a metal tab on the pass side vert well that wasn't pinch welded. They also sent me a body with the wrong firewall. I later recevied a DSE panel from them and 10% off my front sheetmetal. Little did I know that 10% off sheetmetal was readily available from several sources and thus they weren't exactly making up for their poor customer service.


Currently I think only myself and Thibedeaux have dynacorn bodies on LG. He probably has more info on what you need to be prepared for with these bodies.

Welcome to the board Tony. If you have a original car, I would suggest fixing it before replacing the body. And I would look for as many repairable original panels as possible. Especially doors! Repo doors are HORRIABLE. If you absolutely have to have a Dynacorn body, give me a call.
