Hello!

What are the major differences between LS1 vs LS7 , and i am only talking external differences for mock up use. I have LS1 engine and can i trial fit headers , intake , wirings , assesorys, engine mounts with it ?

I know the oilpan is different. I am planning to bay one as used to make oil lines in future.Does it bolt right on LS1 ?

Yep, everything else will bolt up - trans, headers, etc. The exhaust ports are different on an LS7, but LS1 headers will still bolt up.

Thanks Scott!!! Great news , now i can do all the fabbing first and get the engine last.

I'm not sure about the water pump, though. Anyone know if they are signicantly different?

EDIT: The water pumps are basically the same with a slight difference in the intake manifold area for clearancing.

What are you doing for accessory drive? That's my current research project. :D

Ilike the looks of fbody..espially after seeing Steves penny:bow:

I recall cadilla CTS (??) had nice looking too.Big question is can i use stock gm ac compressor with vintage air systmem?

EDIT: I found this system from DSE . As much as i like all DSE stuff i dont understand the value of this 3500usd system vs stock Fbody. Not even looks.

I don't believe that the stock compressor will work with Vintage Air. But they do make a bracket that adapts a Sanden compressor to the stock A/C bracket and locates it in approximately the same position.

That is the DSE new setup eh?

Looks pretty good, but looks like the water pump will not allow a factory manifold or throttle body to be used with it because of the T stat location.

Here is your other alternative- The Sidewinder.

Tyler,

The sidewinder setup looks real nice. Is that your setup or the one that was done for John's chevy II?

Either way, I like it.

The Sidewinder is a setup designed by ATS and currently being run through GT1 class track simulations on Katechs engine dyno. John did express interest in switching his current setup over to the Sidewinder though.
