What are the pros and cons of the 2? I've heard that the rubber ones are great but don't last as long as the urethane. But I have also heard that the urethane bushing tend to give you a sqeaky ride.

I've heard guys fighting squeeking poly bushings forever and finally giving up and going back to rubber.

Rubber- works great, lasts along time, fairly cheap

Polyurethane- squeaky, cold flow properties result in control arm bushings taking set in oval shape leading to slop, no real improvement over fresh rubbers

Polygraphite- same cold flow issues as previously discussed with the added benefit of introducing a compound NOT compatible with urethane. The result is the graphite breaking down the urethane over time.

Teflon/Delrin/Nylon- eliminates all bushing compliance, lasts forever, not terribly expensive, impervious to the elements, no NVH issues.

Basically the Teflon option has zero drawbacks and lots of advantages.

Put -squeak- PST "Polygraphite" bushings -squeak- in the -squeak- old man's -squeak- BelAir -squeak- and had to -squeak- drill and -squeak- add zerk -squeak- fittings to stop them from squeaking. Will probably destroy the bushings eventually, but at least they no longer squeak!

Don't make fun of my car when you see me squeaking down the street, it's part of my sleeper image! :D
