OK, after having completed a Camaro Project, I have to say that I really do not know what the first gen weighed in at from the factory.
Does anyone have a relatively stock Camaro with a SBC V8 and a 4 speed in it and happen to have the true weight of the car. Even better, how about the split and cross?

This may be posted someplace else, but my internet connection is somewhat slow- any help would be appreciated.

I will take a look at my documentation at home, but if you want a real number and can wait a few weeks, I can weigh my car when I get the motor back in. The machine shop called and the motor and head work is done. I just have to pick it up and do the final assembly and installation.

My car is a 69 SS 350 small block w/ 4 speed and is a stock restoration.

I do not have wheel scales (any local race guys around here?), the best that I can do is drive it into town and weigh it at the grain silo. I've used their scale before when doing food drives for a local shelter (empty pickup vs full pickup after the run) and they were friendly about that. I'm not sure how accurate the scales are, but considering that they are used for grain purchase by weight, I would imagine that weights and measures regulations would apply for accuracy.

A friend of mine sold his digital scales last fall so I can't help. John, if you know any stock car guys, they probably have a set, or access to, a set of digital scales to do cross and split weights.

The splits are somewhat important info, but if you can't get access to a racer's scales it's possible to get them from the grain scale. Just drive on the scale half way. Try to get the front tires as close to the center as you can without getting the rears on.
Then do the same for the rear.
Then do the same for the left and right sides (2 left wheels on, then 2 rights).

If the guys at the grain scale are patient enough, this is a decent way to get corner weights.
If you can do this, don't forget to specify if the weight is with the driver or not (and your size) and how full your gas tank is (preferrably exactly how many gallons are in it).
