I was talkin with SW on the phone earlier about common sense engine combinations and it occurred to me that he and others might benefit from seeing a wimpy knock-around 480HP in action.
The video shows an all iron 406 with specs as follows:
-Scat forged 3.750" crank
-Manley 4340 6" rods
-JE 4.155" pistons
-World 200cc Sportsman II heads with mild porting and a real good valve job.
-2.055"x1.600" Manley Pro Flo valves
-Crower hydraulic roller with about 230 degrees duration and heavy but indestructable Crower stainless steel roller rockers.
-1971 GM block with Milodon caps
-Compression is about 10:1
-DaVinci 750cfm HP carburetor
-Canton Pan
-Engine is only turning about 5800-6000 in this vid because of track length.
There are two versions--quicktime (be patient) and YouTube Have fun watching

That car is an absolute Original, Steevo. Years from now it will be know as a unique, original Pro Touring car. All of us here know it to be the Badass ride it is. It will only become more legendary as the years pass.

a leaf spring, automatic car...who would a thunk it. LOL
I love your ride and it appears you have been behind the wheel at least a couple of times.

That's Tony Bolton behind the wheel. With me driving, all of the cones cough and take two steps back when they see me coming.
Anyway, the point was less is more: Little tires, little brakes, little motor, automatic and leaf springs. No wild tire smoke or brake lock up.
It's the little Camaro that could!:willy:

Steevo, what were your times?

63.947+1 (65.947) was the fastest . Would have to dig out the others. as you can see, the track is a 3/8 mile oval with a figure eight. So track is more than 3/4 mile long.
