I am wondering if it is possible to run a 10 inch rim with a 305 series tire without moving the springs? Then I could get away with running a less expensive gas tank and not notching the frame. Anyone know if it is possible?

I would think the mini-tub itself is more than half the expense of the whole job if you include the offset shackles and gas tank... I would think they are all required. Check gpsuperstore for group buys on Rick's tanks - I think I've seen them before.

you can run a 10 inch wide rim, but i doubt youll fit a 305.... but i guess try and let us know what you find out.

Im going to say that will be a tight fit. I have a 73 camaro with a bit more room then a 1st gen and run and 18x10 with a 285-35 and Im sure that I can fit a 295-35 but not sure on a 305. Remember that the 305 is going to be both taller and wider. Your looking at about 12.2 inches of just contact patch. Thats a pretty good tire. I would just go for 285-35 and if you have more room then go for the big stuff. Just try not to get the tire to stick out to far, watch you back spacing and bumps in the road.

I talked to DSE today and they said no as well. I might as well just go all the way and go for the 335 in a 18 or 325 in a 19. Otherwise I am not gainging much contact patch and thats the whole point.
