Hi,
This is my first post! I have a technical question...Working on an '84 Buick T-Type and this is what I wanted to do. The Global West Cat-5 upper & lower control arms for the tall spindles and use Baer brakes. I called the Baer tech line (very unhelpful:mad: ) and they said "we no longer offer our brakes on the tall spindle, just the stock G-body or drop spindles only. What other brakes are out there that will look good? I have not decided on wheels yet...Any ideas?

Yep, Baer didn`t like the steering geometry issues caused by the B spindles on a G body. They`ll probably stop offering them for A body next because the same issues apply. You`re better off anyway we can do a LOT better than that now! You can do a StreetComp-AFX with tall aluminum spindles with C5 Corvette hub/bearing assys and CNC aluminum steering arms that eliminate 85% of the factory bumpsteer instead of the B spindles. We designed the steerign arms for ATS so we quickened the steering ratio and improved the ackerman angle while we were at it. http://www.scandc.com/suspensions.htm#streetcompafx
Then you can use the Baer 13" GT AFX brake package that has BIGGER calipers than the B body or G body 13" GT but costs $700 less! It sounds to good to be true but it`s just that they don`t have to machine stock spindles, make wheel hubs and brackets. The AFX spindled already have hubs and integral mounts so they`re much less money. The savings on the brakes pays for 2/3 the spindles and adj. tubular upper A arms. Cool huh? :) You can use GW tubular lowers with that package if you like or these http://www.scandc.com/spohnarms.htm . We have packages that improve geometry and handling with tall ball joints too but since you want a big set of Baers already this is THE hot setup. Mark SC&C

Thanks guys...and thanks Mark (I spoke with you on the phone at length the other day). I think the AFX spindles/C5 brakes will be the way to go. I just don't want to do this twice! Very helpful. Greg
