Ok I've asked this in other forums and got various answers. A wet sump LS7 in 69 Camaro, which oil pan would you use. I like ATS oil pan except for the fact that it is only 4.5 qts, which seems a little thin for an LS7. What do you think? Thanks

I wouldn't do it, especially since the main bearings on the LS7 are suspect to begin with.

I agree, definately a no no. Stay with what GM has engineeered, worked through and tested, IMO. They be alot smarter than me. Unless of course you can blow up 15K of motor and not care.

O, I care. XOXO Thats why I go to forums. Learn and get answers from experience. Stuart, loved the Aluminator. Never heard before that the mains were suspect- thats big! Know of any solutions? Sleeved LS2 maybe? Stay with the dry sump? I'm really trying to make an LS7 work for this 69.

Ok been trying to be creative in solving this dilemma. What do you think about using an Accumulator, ie. Moroso's 3qt reserve, with the 4.5 qt oil pan. Is it feasible, practical? Would it work? Anyone try adapting the Corvette pan or the C/K truck pan?

Why dont yuo go with original LS7 oil pan and move steering front with BRP rack&pinion kit?

I've spent some jack upgrading the front clip with GW stuff and Baer stoppers, and a DSE 600 box that I would hate to see shelved. Since this post I think I found a solution with a Canton pan. I also see others have used a GTO pan-yes/no?

no problem, currently the 383 is out and the new power plant is being built at LME. I can send front clip pics if you like.
