Need to pull the trigger today on tires since we have a shoot on Friday.

Thoughts on these

Front:

235/40/17 Has a tire heigth of 24.4 inches and a width of 9.76

Rear:

275/50/17 Has a tire height of 27.88 and a width of 11.1

I wish the front was a 245 but even a 255 is only 10.16 inches wide, so I don't know how big a deal it really is. I really think the taller side wall, on a big car like my Fairlane, will give a more "musclecar look"

It's very hard to picture the final look, so advice would appreciated. Oh, plan B is Nitto 555s in 245/40/17 and 275/40/17. The rear tire only has a heigth of 25.59 inches.

Opinions.. thoughts... I'm ordering in a couple hours.. This tread will be deleted this afternoon..

You can't get the front in a 45 series?

You can't get the front in a 45 series?

Here are my choices (click sizes and specs)
http://www.nittotire.com/tires_450.asp

This is the only Nitto tire that has a 275/50/17 size, which would look great in the back.

My two front choices are 255/50 (too tall at 27 inches) and 235/40 at 24.4 inches tall

I could go down to a 225/50 that's around 26" tall but it seems like a pretty narrow tire.

ack!

Everything in the 555 line of tires is 40 series for the back, which is ok but that taller back tire, i think, would look better.

Does Fairlane have airride?

If so, go with plan B

Will a 27" tire up front not fit? Rub?
What sizes did they use on that blue SMC Torino?

I like the idea of a 27" tire up front and a 28" tire out back on that big of a car... My 72 Formula has those size tires... gives it a very muscular/bold pit bull kind of look with 255s up front and 275s out back... just a thought.

I don't think short tires will look good on that big of a car...

My novice .02 worth...

27-inch tires won't fit up front unless the car sits pretty high up there..

The decision has been made.. may god have mercy on my soul.. lol

Thanks guys!
