Morning All,
I'm not the most acitve poster, but I'm on this site daily while at the office.
I'm heading to Vegas for 8 days over Xmas and thought since a good number of you have attended SEMA, you might be able to point me in the direction of some good places for a gearhead.
I'm really interested in knowing if there are any type of cruise nights, vendors....i want to get my car fix.
Any other ;) good joints for partying are also welcome.
Thanks Guys.
Jason
Where are you staying? Planning on going to any shows?

We booked at the Imperial Palace because it was cheap...more money left to blow on the fun parts.
We have booked tickets to Mystere. We tried to get tickets to O, but we couldn't get any. We will try for some while we are there. Other than that, we are playing everything by ear.
Any recommendations Scott?
I havn't been to Mystere, but O was fantastic. It was definitely worth the price to get in. I'm sure Mystere will be just as good.
We've spent quite a bit of time at IP. It's a decent joint. It's older but I thought it was a good deal.
Do NOT go to the Karaoke bar on the 2nd floor. :_paranoid
The car museum at IP was ok.

Scott,
I will NOT go into a karaoke bar on any floor! ;)
I heard that O is an amazing show. I do want to catch that one. I know that I want to try and get to ATS to see the g-body spindles first hand. They are on my MUST have list.

You may want to check out the Blue Man group at the Venetian! Tickets are expensive, but they are worth seeing. Then again what show in Vegas isn't expensive. Cesars Palace as an exotic car "museum" but it is $10. My $.02

Last year I went to the Ferrari dealer at the Wynn, it was cool, especially since there was an Enzo in the basement. It is also cool, you can see the garage where they are doing repairs and service. Definitely cool if you are into that type of car!!

Jason,
Pure at Ceasars is a great night club, and Tao at Venetian is a pretty cool restaurant/bar to check out. Was just down there for my best friend's wedding.
I always like checking out the Ferrari dealership at the Wynn, but you are not allowed to take any pics. Car museum at the IP is not bad and there is also another at the Exotic car store at the mall in Ceasars. I know there is a Nascar store on the strip, but haven't gone there for a while.
Another thing I love checking out is the Lion/Tiger/Dolphin habitat at the Mirage. That's worth the money to see if you like animals. (it's way in the back past the swimming pools) Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay is also pretty cool.
My advice is bring some good runners, as you'll be doing ALOT of walking. And use cabs to get around. Usually $10-$15 to get anywhere is way easier and cheaper than the Monorail.
I've seen Mystere, Ka and Dany Gans which were all pretty good, but $100 a pop are not cheap.

going with a woman? Your wife? If so, answer anyone who asks, She is NOT your wife, and you are FROM vegas.
at the exotic car store in Ceasers, there is two racing "simulators" in there. its like 25 bucks for 10 minutes. It's actually worth it.
/timeshare vultures are relentless.
//Eat at the country club at the Wynn.

If you want to check out a cool diner with all hot rod stuff hanging on the walls (including full size cars) then go to "Hot Rod Hill" on American Pacific road in Hederson, NV. Its about 15-20 mins east of the strip. Take the 215 toward the dam then exit on Stephanie go left about 1/2 mile to American Pacific then turn right and its on the right. "Hot Rod Hill" is a whole strip mall decated to old car business.

Dont forget the timeshare vultures even work INSIDE and FOR your hotel. If a greeter asks you if you want your free gifts, or tickets to a show theres a timeshare nightmare in your future. Run. They tell everyone its an hour and free breakfast. But it takes all day.
/didnt go.
//know those that did.
